Overview

A warrior prince... A woman of science... A quest for a lost star... Atlantis is unleashed. Lord Justice made the ultimate sacrifice for his brother and paid for it with an unimaginable torture. Now he's back, rescued from death, his sanity shaken, and his mission inescapable-the search for the lost Star of Artemis. But the beautiful human female whom he has sworn to protect is shadowed by an evil that could destroy them both. The archaeological artifacts of Atlantis speak to Dr. Keely McDermott, sharing visions of life long ago. The ancient revelations have cast her into a world between past and present, between reality and illusion-and, when she meets the fierce Atlantean warrior assigned to guard her, between terror and temptation. Now, as their two worlds collide, so too will danger and desire...

To save the life of his brother, Lord Justice volunteered to become the prisoner of evil vampire goddess Anubisa. She was elated to take the hybrid Atlantan and Nereid as her special guest. His sacrifice has begun to take its toll on his sanity as he has no outlet for his dueling natures.---------------- Archaeologist Dr. Keely McDermott uses her extrasensory skill psychometry to learn what occurred to inanimate objects. She excavates a carving that when she touches it she finds herself linked to its creator; to her shock, that individual is alive though the carving is old and in torment. Their tie enables Justice to escape his bondage. With Anubisa giving chase, they team up seeking the Star of Artemis jewel of Atlantis, needed with the rest of the jewels to destroy Anubisa.-------------- This is super Warriors of Poseidon urban fantasy entry starring perhaps the most tormented of the warriors and a courageous human who risk their lives to defy Anubisa. The story line is filled with Alyssa Day's trademark action in several locals. However, it is the lead couple who make this a terrific romantic fantasy thriller as the scientist and the seemingly insane paranormal half-breed team up in love.-------------- Harriet Klausner

Another exciting installment in this series of Alyssa Day's The Warriors of Poseidon series. This is a wonderful combination of realism and the fantastical. The female charactors are strong and the men are stronger. Romantic and exciting.

I've been hooked on Alyssa Day's Warriors of Poseidon since the first book. Atlantis Unleashed was the perfect "next chapter" in this continuing series. Lord Justice is a tortured soul, not only battling his dual personalities, but the repercussions of his time as a captive of the sadistic Anubisa. Archaeologist Dr. Keely McDermott fights her own demons, but she is the perfect match for Justice. Day's storytelling skills are amazing, and her ability to bring me into the world of her Atlantean warriors has me anxiously awaiting the next story.

I was looking forward to this one but it fell short. Nothing was explained on what Justice went through while captured. It did make sense that he was losing his mind and all but they story just didn't quite measure up to the last one.

I was waiting impatiently for this book to come out after the lag time from the first 2 novels. This book was a bit TOO wordy - she could have spent more time on the main characters. Like the herione, Keely, doesn't get along with her parents - a big build up in the first chapter but then that just got left behind - so why did we have to hear all about it? It wasn't very relevant to the story. Wanted to understand more about the Nereids - what are they, what powers they have and why that made Justice so dual natured (and if they are "blue" then how come no one connected a kid with blue hair to possibly BEING a nereid?) so there were some missing plot points and gaps in the story. There were a bit too many characters (as some other reviewer said) - the whole thing with Liam at the beginning and I'm wondering who the heck is Liam? Why did Atlantis even WANT scientists to go there? I don't remember anything about that from previous books so I felt dropped into the middle of that part of the plot as well. I did like the book, don't get me wrong, but more because I really liked the first few stories in the series (books & novellas) and not because of anything super about this one and I want to continue hearing about some of the other characters (although not so much about some of them with no payoff). So it was worth it but not as good as her previous work. Hopefully Alexios' story in July is better.

I thought the previous two books were okay by this author so I decided to buy this one. She followed about 12 different people and each of their storylines. This became so hard to follow! If I hadn't read the back of the book, I would have even know who the main characters were. I finally became discouraged and quit reading. Also, the scenes were over developed. It took 10 pages to describe the smallest things. EVERY persons thoughts were detailed, so it became to hard to follow and really relate to anyone. Should have spent time with the main characters and stuck with them, rather than trying to put together everyone elses storylines for future books.

I enjoy Alyssa Day and her Warriors of Poseidon series. Atlantis Unleashed does not disappoint. It had a lot of different story lines going on for her next up and coming books and that was a little annoying because I feel like I got a tiny bit cheated with justice's story. But that's really my only complaint. Good book though, love her amazing imagination and I can wait for the next one!
