I love the way Jake introduces us to the "characters" or participants of this event and then relays the timeline from each of their perspectives. I've heard this story before, because my gg-grandfather was one of the participants, but Klim's telling of the tale brings it to life! It's an important piece of history that is way overdue in its telling.

Author Klim's telling of the historical drama of the WWI German submarine attack on Orleans on Cape Cod is a thrilling drama.  The historical perspective and detail provided is fantastic and combined with the photos gives the reader the feel of being right there with the action.  The book provides an excellent perspective on the events leading up to the attack and the lives of the people involved and the historical significance of the first attack on American soil in over 100 years.  I highly recommend the book for both the exciting story telling by Klim and the historical significance of the attack.
