Well, well, well…who doesn’t want to be sold to a hot guy? A hot, dominate, alpha guy? Ok, maybe not truly, but it’s a fun fantasy, eh? Laura decides on a whim to sign herself up to be offered up at the Club Spectrum Auctions. She feels like an exciting night with a dom is what she needs to fulfill her dirty and dark fantasies. What she doesn’t expect is to be bought by Slade, a man with whom she has a past; the only man she’s ever loved who left her with no explanation, never to be heard from again. This was a short but pretty exciting read. It’s a BDSM read, and if you’re into that kind of thing, it’s pretty hot. What’s nice about this story is that it seems to balance the romance with the BDSM of the story, which is sometimes what books of this genre fail to do. For a short story, it also really gives you a good sense of the characters and their struggles. Often, short reads leave me wanting more in that department, but this author really manages to convey the emotions of each character and you understand their motivations and mistakes. It’s a well done and very sexy story. 4 stars. Reviewed by Sara Squared for Crystal’s Many Reviewers *Copy Provided for review*

Laura signs herself up for an ‘auction’ so she can have a night of hot, steamy, kinky sex with a real Dom.  One who doesn’t use BDSM as an outlet for abuse, something she knows about first hand. Slade is shocked to see Laura on the stage at his club auctioning herself off.  He thought she was happy and married, that’s what her brother, his friend, told him when he asked about her. They were friends and Laura loved Slade but he left her while she was grieving and she never knew why.  He thought she was too young for him, to innocent for him and her brother was too protective of her after her parents died.  Slade didn’t have any other choice but to leave her. But all these years later they come together because Slade refuses to let anyone else ‘buy’ her at the action.  But will her brothers interference, Slades fear that he is too old for her or the memory she has of him leaving her keep them from moving forward? I loved the idea of the auction and how it brings them together.  And based on the end of the book the next auction looks to be just as great as this one.

“Auctioned to the Honorable Dom-The Spectrum Auctions #1” by Doris O’Connor 5 out of 5 stars This book was short but packed quite a punch! On a dare from a friend, Laura decides to sign up for the auction at the famed Spectrum Club. Ready to have a few fantasies fulfilled with an experienced Dom, the last person she expects to find is Slade! He’s her brother’s best friend and the man she has loved since she was a young girl. What starts out as Slade’s protective instincts quickly turns to passion and soars to new heights for them both! Laura was an interesting character. As a sub, she was compliant and more than willing to learn from Master Slade. It would be easy to dismiss her as weak but there is a quiet strength and beauty in the submission she gives to her Dom. Through him she is able to work through emotions that have long been buried and have constantly weighed her down. The level of trust and depth at which she gives herself over to Slade is a little awe-inspiring. Slade makes for a great Dom. He is intuitive and demanding as well as gentle and giving. His longing for Laura is evident from the beginning and he brings a strength and balance to her character that is quite lovely. It would be easy to focus on the sex in the book, but I think that actually takes a backseat to the lessons about trust and love. This story is a different sort of take on the BDSM lifestyle and I enjoyed seeing the emotional side of it. The obvious chemistry between Laura and Slade is only made stronger by the underlying bond of love the two share. I look forward to more in this series! *I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.* Shannon, My Secret Book Spot

Okay so I lucked out because Doris is one AMAZING woman and I was able to review this book for an honest review. And let me tell you OMG I loved this story. I WANT MORE!!! I'm so glad it is part of a series I don't think the next book will be about Slade and Petal ...but I want more Slade and Petal...I mean Laura. hehe This book was different and special for me because while I don't know the entire ins and outs of BDSM I have a general idea of the basics. It was nice to finally read a book where the girl knew what was supposed to happen and choose to be there. I've read 2 or 3 "BDSM" books (if you call it that) and the guy is always having to start from scratch in training the sub. The "sub" first off is never a true sub and submits, but they don't understand the true nature of the relationship and what it really means to be a submissive to a dominate. Now with that being said every new Dom/Sub relationship has to begin with some basics to learn about each other, but it was so different to read a story where the sub was there by choice, it wasn't her first time and she didn't need to be coaxed into it. She wanted and needed it.  So our story begins with Laura being auctioned to the highest bidder at a BDSM club. And just when she walks on the stage she sees a familiar face in the crowd. Not just any familiar face, but someone she's had a major crush on for as long as she can remember. Slade. And O.M.G. is Slade effing hawt!! I'd like to be auctioned for one night with him. ;) Anyways Slade wins Laura or better known as Petal. He takes her back to his room in the club and it get's interesting. While Slade is pissed that she is not only at the club, but that she could have been sold to someone else, he's also happy about it because for a long time Slade has has feelings for Laura too. So while in Slade's room he get's into his Dom role thinking that by being hard and ruff it will knock some sense into Laura and she'll wise up and leave. However, that's not exactly what happens. I find what happens at the end of this scene funny because there is pounding on the door and standing outside is Laura's brother, Michael. Ohhh and he's a cop. And let me tell you cop or not I'd love to get him alone in a room and beat the hell out of him. What a douche rocket. And by the end of this book I'm very satisfied with the situation Michael finds himself in. However, getting to that point is difficult. During this book we learn that Laura was engaged at one point and we find out that it was to Michael's partner. Something happened and she called it off and tried to tell her brother about the situation, but that didn't go the way Laura thought it would. But Slade tries to get Laura to open up to him and talk about what's been going on since he left. And Laura tries to make Slade see she isn't the little girl he left all those years ago. Can Slade and Laura find common ground with each other? Will Michael accept them? The lifestyle they live?  Will Michael and Laura work out their issues? There are a lot of miss-communications from the past that need to be cleared up and the question becomes will they? Could there be a possibility for these two in the future? Especially for a real relationship? Questions are answered and by the end of the book there are open possibilities. Like I said I can't wait to see what's in store for the next book because I need more of these characters. Honestly, I want more of Slade and Petal. I love how their characters interact together and compliment one another. They bring out sides in one another that others can't. And they have history which only adds to their "relationship". This was a quick read, but one that grabbed me from the beginning. Make sure to pick up a copy of this awesome book by an amazing author.
