AUGUST PATRIOT is all inclusive; it has patriotism, loyalty, history, romance, suspense and action all rolled into one. Leland G. Stephens is a master with words and presents a sapient vision beyond his time. A compelling book and a must read.

I consider it a great honor that Steve-O asked me to write a review of his thoughtful and exciting novel August Patriot. After reading it, I¿m convinced that the whole of it is true¿only the names have changed. As a part-time deputy sheriff, ranch hand and retired SEAL, I remember well the drug war that began in the U.S. during the 1960s and has now escalated to the point of our country¿s moral self-destruction.
