Great stories. Thanks to all the authors for doing this for Australia.
Holy Moly! This book is like 800+ pages! I wanted to dive into some of my favorites and maybe a few new-to-me authors. I loved that most of the authors' incorporated something 'Australia' in their story. Here are short thoughts on my favorites: Stitches by Melanie Moreland I love Melanie's storytelling. So hearing through her reader group we were going to be graced with little girl/single mom, I was excited. She did not disappoint in this meet-cute story. I'm thinking the stuff Koala hid out on purpose to make it happen. Once again, Melanie is a master at giving you a short complete story you feel good about. Shopping for More by Julia Kent Okay seeing this was going to be more Declan and Shannon... COUNT ME IN! I love these two. And seeing them overcome traveling CEO and facetime with a toddler. Loved LOVED this look at these two again. Ms Kent tapped into the current events to weave in the anthology's theme. One Wild Ride by Chelle Bliss The Gallos are my favorites from Chelle and can't get enough. Growly men on motorcycles and sassy pants heroines. I giggle-snorted when her 'head nod' to the theme came. Only she can create a Koala you'd want to climb like a tree. I'll add more thoughts on the stories I enjoyed to my Goodreads account as I have time to read because of 800 PAGES! 100% of proceeds are going to charity. I am sure you'll find something you love about this collection too!
From the Anthology, I read: “One Wild Ride” by Chelle Bliss Gigi and Pike are one of my favorite Gallo couples and this sexy short story takes place in Daytona, where they met while he was attending Bike week and she was on Spring Break with her cousins. Of course her parents Suzy and Joe, had no idea she was on vacation in Florida. Gigi was smitten with Pike from the minute she spotted him in the noisy bar and he felt the same way about her. Her quiet cousins, Lily and Mary, didn’t have much to say about her fling with Pike but her partying cousins, Mallory and Tamara, were quite envious. Mallory went in search of her own hot biker while Tamara agreed to meet some of Pike’s biker friends. It probably wouldn’t take long for Tamara to find her “date” for the evening, which was fine with Gigi because her and Pike had some hot and spicy plans of their own.
First of all, thanks to all the authors for donating all the proceeds to very worthy causes. That said, and this is my personal opinion, some of the stories were so bad, I couldn't read them. I fast scrolled through more than one to see if the next story would be any better. However, there were several that I found very entertaining and worth reading - most notably Susan Stokers story about 2 of my favorite characters - Wolf and Caroline Steel. And please tell me how a story about a homosexual former priest and a vampire is considered a romance?? Not. Well, make up your own mind about this anthology. I'm done with it.
Be There With Me by Giana Darling 4 Friends, true friends, are worth more than their weight in gold. Tenn is worth his weight in platinum. He's definitely someone to swoon over and I truly hope Giana Darling decides to expand Be There With Me into a full size novel. Where the Current Takes You by Emma Scott 5 Swoon. Emma Scott could probably make me fall in love with her grocery list. I have yet to NOT be swept away by her words and thoughts. Where the Current Takes You is sweet serendipity. Its definitely rainbows and unicorns but in the best way possible. Knowing we might be cynical or pessimistic she makes sure there's sour to anchor our lofty hearts. I Mean, It’s Cool by Tijan 5 I just want to cry. It's all Tijan's fault. I Mean, It's Cool is far more emotional than the words on the page. It's heartbreaking and hopeful. I wander if we will ever get to go Silvard!?! Just Jane by Jewel E. Ann 4 Jewel E. Ann gave every person reading this the biggest wish. Everyone wants to be a game changer. Everyone wants that ability to rock someone's world. I think her description of a game changer though is more accurate than people realize. Being/having a game changer doesn't mean the game goes your way...ask Just Jane! 3, 2, 1 by Parker S. Huntington 5 I can't even pretend that that didn't bring tears to my eyes. The meaning behind the title...The reasons...The new meaning... I totally lost it. I had tears and no shame. 3,2,1 packs an emotional punch. I absolutely adored it. Virgin Ride by A.L. Jackson 4 Well, hello! Gorgeous biker guy across the street...nice to meet you! I'd like to introduce you to...well, you'll see. Virgin Ride is something you can't take back and I promise you won't want to! (I'm still licking my lips!) Sanguine by Sierra Simone 4 I have assumed Seirra Simone is obsessed with priests. I don't judge her...anymore because let's face it after falling in lust with Father Bell I couldn't point fingers. It turns out Seirra isn't the only one obsessed with wickedly naughty priests. I do blame her though for my infatuation. Also, why are there so few hot priests in the real world!?! Lol. I guess I'll have to live with my naughty fantasies out in her books and Sanguine (fans self and moans) is definitely naughty. (Bites bottom lip) So very....wicked. Enjoy the walk on the ...wild/dark/wicked side. Love You for Always by Willow Winters 4.5 Love You for Always was a heartwarming read especially for my pessimistic mind. It brought a smile to my face and a warmth to my insides. It may have been short but it was long enough to give me everything I needed. King Of Libertines Pam Godwin 4.5 Wow! I can honestly say, I don't think I've ever considered Pam Godwin going pirate. As a pirate lover though, I am quite pleased with the direction she has gone. This historical romance is intriguing and the perfect adventure for serious pirate lovers and even those that think Captain Jack Sparrow is the reigning pirate king. (He totally is!) The King of Libertines is a fun way to start this new journey and even if I have to swab the deck- I'm going too! The Boogieman by Mary Catherine Gebhard 4.5 Turns out, I really dig the Boogieman. I nwvernever pictured myself truly embracing Harley Quinn but I just realized I would totally have fallen. The Boogieman will definitely be in my dreams. Taken By the Hobo by Kayti McGee 4 Bahahahahaha! Kayti McGee always finds a way to make me lose my sh!t. Lol. This felonious hobo is fantastic!
