About the Author

Gene Yang began drawing comic books in the fifth grade. He was an established figure in the indie comics scene when he published his first book with First Second, American Born Chinese, which is now in print in over ten languages. ABC's instant critical and commercial success, along with its status as a National Book Award finalist and winner of the Printz Prize, catapulted Yang into stardom as a brilliant writer for teens and young adults. Boxers & Saints is his most recent graphic novel.

If you enjoyed the show's story, you'll love the comic-book continuation. "The Search" focuses on the particularly nail-biting question of Zuko's estranged mother: Is she still alive? This comic series of the famous show will have you hooked until the very end.

I find out a week ago about these comic series, and omg they are worth it! I'm a huge fan of ATLA and if you really enjoyed that series, I recommended reading this series. So many answers to the questions I had. I also recommended reading the other trilogy comics they have out and the coming soon ones and to also watch Legend of Korra!

****SPOILER**** The other of the books pale in comparison. I want to know Azula's outcome!!! She is so messed up n everything. I still can't believe she gave them up. It messed with the story line a bit since she was supposed to be this big time devotional mother who would do anything for her kids. I mean. Give up memories for the pain was a easy way out. She knew they would end up needing her. I locked how they had a second story behind the spirit. Thus was my favorite of the spirits, she had a story, personality, and a legend. She was amazing.
