About the Author

Gene Yang began drawing comic books in the fifth grade. He was an established figure in the indie comics scene when he published his first book with First Second, American Born Chinese, which is now in print in over ten languages. ABC's instant critical and commercial success, along with its status as a National Book Award finalist and winner of the Printz Prize, catapulted Yang into stardom as a brilliant writer for teens and young adults. Boxers & Saints is his most recent graphic novel.

I can't say it wasn't fun to see my favorite Avatar characters back in action, but I wish they had just released this and its two sequels as one graphic novel. The story and art were beautiful and fun, and the characters' personalities remained almost perfectly intact, but the length, sadly, was a bit on the short side. It's still a great buy for any fan of the original series.

This is a great continuation of the series to Legend of Korra, and I'm hoping that there will be some links that appear in LOK or some small things that Aang does that affect the LOK series. Can't wait to read.

You didn't let me buy it because I was outside the US but I read it somewhere else and it's a great book. If you loved the series you are going to love this book as well.

I almost died when I found out that there was a continuation of Avatar TLA in comic book form! I was seriously suffering Avatar withdrawl symptoms until I found this. I have finished the Promise and cannot wait to read the Search, the Rift and the Lost Stories! I have divided everything up so that I have 10 weeks of reading material to keep my sanity...Im just afraid of what will happen when I run out!
