About the Author

I’m a mom who writes books in her spare time: translation—I hide in the bathroom with my laptop and lock the door while the kids destroy the house and smear peanut butter on the walls. ;) I was born in Utah but lived in Salina, Kansas until I was 13 and in Garland, Texas until I was 18. I’m now back in Utah–”happy valley”. I’m married to a wonderful husband, James, and we are currently raising 6 rambunctious children. My interests are reading, writing (of course), martial arts, visual arts, and spending time with family.

At first I was confused by the beginning and some of the things that happened in the story, but then Ms. Kelly did a fantastic way of bringing all the little bits of story together. It all made sense. I enjoy seeing characters from previous books make an apperience. I also enjoyed watching the characters grow. Yes, Nicole was a self centered person in the beginning and in previous books. However, once you realize WHY everythign makes sense. I can't wait for the next one!

Everything about this book is amazing! I was wowed by Rising and Descending. Avenging did not disappoint and I was wowed again! The suspense, romance, and imagination is so intriguing. I couldn't wait for this to be published, and could not put it down as soon as I started reading it. I hope that this series continues on for awhile, because I am already on pins and needles waiting for the next book to be published. I love how everything you could want in a book is included in this series. Humor, romance, action, suspense, fantasy, etc., it's all there. I highly recommend these books to everyone who enjoys good reading!

This series has gone so much farther than just mercreatures. I love that we have this mythology and gods in the world as well. I enjoy how they all tie in together. In this book we get a lot more into Sara's mother's story. We get to see what was causing the "craziness" that Sara spoke of in the first book. I was a bit shocked, to be honest! I'm glad that while we get more into Nicole's life in this book, we still have a lot of Xanthus and Sara, and Gretchen and Kyros too. I enjoy series where each book is about a certain set of characters, but we don't abandon the previous books' characters...they all end up weaving together to create this wonderful world and story. I really like the way the author has taken some myths and legends and twisted them around to fit into her world and yet has kept the integrity of those myths and legends. I'm very eager to see how it all goes down in the 4th (and what I believe to be final?) book. If you love Greek Mythology, mermaids, Gods and Goddesses, and epic battles of good vs. evil...you are going to love this series and especially this book!

No spoiler alerts here. Read the first 2 books first. They are a great series. This one was my favorite. I wish I had a sea god in my life. LOL

I woke up in the big house. No one was in the room but Nico. "Nico?" I croaked weakly. "Shhhhhhh. I know it hurts. I have been trying to heal you all day. As soon as you passed out I brought you here. I stole Ambrosia and Nectur from Chiron and forbid anyone to come in here til you woke up." He said. I nodded, to weak to talk. Nico helped me stand. Than he opened the door. Percy ran in. He pulled me into a big hug. Percy had tears in his eyes. "I thought you were dead." He cried. "Its ok." I reasured him. Annabeth stood in the doorway. She came over and hugged me. "Your like a little sister to me. I was so woried." She said. "Mom wants to iris messag." Percy said. I walked to a spray of mist and tossed in a coin. My mom answered but luke came up. He held a bloody knife. End of chappie. Part six at lightning thief.

Amazing is all I can say. At first, I had my doubts about this book, but once I started reading it, I couldn't stop. The suspense just made me want to keep reading, and the rich use of lore kept me fascinated with all the details. Being able to read from the view point of different characters was another factor that boosted my opinion of this book. I cannot wait for the next book!

There are too many series where the second and third book aren't nearly as interesting as the first. This isn't like that. I loved every book, and this one is my favorite so far. I knew once I picked up this book, I wouldn't be able to put it down, and I was right. What a ride! Holly's vivid imagination pulls together gods from a variety of sources and puts them all together in a unique way. If you haven't ever tried mermaid fiction, this is the series to read. I can't wait for the next book! Well done!

I want to return this book so badly. Nicole is the main character aka Sara's sabatoging mother who has now been married six times. Nicole makes herself out to be the constant victim and she is annoyingly whiny. The book was so disapointing I actually feel the urge to cry. I was looking forward to it and I just could not stand the crazy, narcotic main character.
