What an emotional roller coster! Loved this book!! Wanted to shake some sence into Lexi at times and other times I totally got her. Oh and finally I hate someone more than Mrs. Robinson. 50 fans will get what I mean!

Reminded me of Thoughtless and Effortless which are 2 books I also absolutely love and I'm so happy to have found this book. The cover really caught my attention and looked like a yummy read and it didn't disappoint! Read in 2 days and am jonsing for the second book! Jack and Lexi really have a passion about them and it's hard to not to root for them to make it but can Lexi really take anymore angst? Poor girl!!!

This book was horrible. Its just about a girl who keeps going back to a guy who cheats and lies and will never tell anyone abiut her. The whole book is just the same story over and over. Do not waste your time.

I almost NEVER stop reading a book - had to make an exception with this one. What a waste of time. The story was confusing, all over the place and the characters were weak at best. Save your money.

I absolutely loved this book and the emotional roller coaster it put me through. Jack and Lexi never seemed to be in the same place at the same time. Ever have a relationship like that? I found the characters very relatable. Your heart cheer for them, break for them, and ache for them. Also Bekah will go down in history as the best mean girl ever! Be prepared not to get anything done the day you read this book because you will not to be able to put it down. It will consume you :)

Truth be told, I may be a "book snob". I thought this book was a waste of time...and I will read anything. I could TRY to look past the terrible editting, but the story was just not a good one.

Between the recycled cover, and the week heroine. I just couldn't get attached to the book. I kept reading it for some reason. Maybe it was one of those terrible train wrecks that people keep watching even when they know its gonna be ugly and gory. Worse part there's a second and a third book, which I'll be happy to skip

Loved the story the writing was a little confusing... Sometimes it was from an outsiders perspective and others from Lexis'. It was a little hard to follow at first but once you start reading it and get through the first few chapters I couldn't put it down!

Wow. Talk about an emotional whirlwind! All of the reviews are 110% true when they say 'emotional roller coaster' Wowza.  It didn't take long for me to get hooked on this book. It's starts out in the present tense and just enough of Lexi's past is reveled to make you keep reading more. About half way through the book is does get a little confusing on what happens simply because it goes back-and-forth between time, which I kinda enjoyed most about the book too. Jack is a complete jack-ass. Every girl knows a Jack and that's what makes this book so great. It's not fancy cars and money - it real raw emotion everyone-most everyone has experienced in a break-up.  I was waiting for that epic HEA and it came SO close..... now on to book 2. I definitely recommend this book.

Ok I don't even know where to start with this one. There are book series that you read and you become so involved and invested in them that you have a hard time walking away from the characters once the books are all said and done. That was this series for me. Thank GOD I was off from work the past 3 days because I did nothing but consume every ounce of these books in that time. Lexi is a likable character. It's so rare to find that in books now. So frequently with so many of the books I've read the lead character just grates on your nerves until all you want to do is bash your head against the wall. Lexi isn't like that. Does she make bad choices? All of the time. But every single time I understood why she made the choice she did and my heart broke for her when it all fell apart. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This series is the story of her long and troubled relationship with her non-boyfriend Jack. Ah Jack. The ups, downs, ins and outs of their long relationship. How it evolves and how new people enter and change it through the years (Ramsey, oh Ramsey). There were times throughout these books I constantly found myself yelling at my Nook, shaking my head, laughing out loud, crying along with Lexi, or just saying no no no no no. You get invested because these characters are well developed and so are the relationships they form. Much like Lexi I found myself going back and forth between what I thought was the best decision for her because it was never an easy one. The style in which they're written is great too because it flips back and forth between the present and past allowing you to see the full picture of all that has happened between these people while keeping you on the edge of your seat. It never distracted from the story being told but rather enhanced it. I loved every minute of these books and I fully suggest them. The only downside is the massive book hangover I have from them now that it's over. I can't wait to see what comes from this author next

Just loved this book. I think every girl out there has someone, that they were just gaga about and maybe kept running into him or just thought about him for years because of a special connection. Jack is that guy for Lexi and for some wicked reason I want the two of them together after reading both books. I want Jack to admit to everyone someday how much he loves Lex and I want him to fight hard to get her! I know everyone won't agree but a girl can dream, right?

Reviewed by ANGELA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog "Her [K.A. Linde] writing flowed and she kept me intrigued from beginning until the end." ~Under The Covers I have thought about how to review this book a few times before writing it. I will not sugar coat it or make it pretty with pictures but simply just tell you what I feel. First, I want to forewarn you that if you are looking for a feel good book or a novel that has a happy-ever-after (HEA) within a book, this is not it. It is quite the opposite. This book is full of angst, false hopes, heartaches and no HEA in sight. It actually sucks the life out of you as you fight with yourself from throwing your ereader across the room. But I rated it 4stars because Ms. Linde knows angst, false hopes and heartaches well. Her writing flowed and she kept me intrigued from beginning until the end. And for that, I applaud her. Jack and Lexi are college sweethearts that had continued their on and off relationship far too long. It actually started from friendship, which I thought, was cute but had ended badly because one of them cheated on the other. I guess at some point that is realistic for a college life relationship. Always uncertain, and most probably overrun by hormones. The problem is you would hope they learn and grow out of that rut; instead, they keep up with this charade. If they were not cheating on each other, they would cheat for each other...if that makes sense. Jack is a womanizing jerk, who keeps stringing Lexi along. He is a liar, a cheater and a manipulator... He annoyed the hell out of me! I kept on wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt and he just kept disappointing me because he just wants to have his cake and eat it too. I have known many Jacks in my life and frankly, they are nothing but a waste of time because they never really change. I could be wrong and maybe Ms. Linde will somehow make him the hero Lexi deserves. However, if it were up to me, he can shove that cake where the sun don't shine and force Lexi to give Ramsey a chance. Unfortunately, It's not going to happen in this book. Lexi is just way too dumb to see that she's being played! I can't blame her, she has a soft spot for Jack and she can't simply refuse him. Hmmm, okay, I'm sounding a bit hypocritical here because, now I'm thinking, I'm just as bad as Lexi. As much as I disliked Jack, Lexi and the rest of the crew...I could not resist but finished the rest of the book. Bottom line...Did I hate the characters? Most of the time...especially Jack. Did I almost throw my ipad across the room? Several times...because of Jack. Do I recommend this book? Yes, but only if you like ANGSTY type of books. Will I read Avoiding Responsibility? Yes, only because I want to see Lexi get her HEA. I am hoping Ms. Linde provide a more suiting hero though.

What a silly, ridiculous story! Up and running off to help the douchebag who never cared enough to put you first? Still pinning for this loser? This book made me cringe and want to slap every single person in it. I couldn't relate to these characters, and the premise just pissed me off. It came highly recommended after Thoughtless and Effortless and once again, I was disappointed. Lexi deserved everything she got because she was a lousy person.

This is the first time I've read a book and had mixed reactions about it. I didn't love the storyline and I didn't completely hate it. The main characters (Jack and Lexi) just never seemed to grow up emotionally and I felt that the author's portrayal of their relationship being a roller-coaster was exhausting. As much as this was fiction, I still would have preferred a bit of realism/relatability and I just did not get that from the get go. Unfortunately, once I start reading a book, I feel obligated to finish. Also, the writer's style of alternating between the past and present with every other chapter was frustrating. As much as it appeared in the end that Lexi got the closure she seeked from losing Jack, I still felt like the story was incomplete. There is apparently a book 2 (Avoinding Responsibility) but I doubt I will read. The author just did not convince or impress me the first time around.

Best books! I was one of the lucky ones who got to read avoiding commitment and avoiding responsability before you could get them on ebook and OMG I LOVE THEM! Cant wait for the 3rd, but i will definitly be buying them to reread of course (; K.A you're an amazing author keep it up!

I found the plot to be unrealistic, the main character very weak, the relationship annoyingly unhealthy, nice characters treated poorly ( especially poor Clark), and I did not like the fact that the storyline kept switching each chapter from past to present.

Excellent book! Full of twists and turns, it really is an emotional roller coaster and leaves you wanting more! If you liked this book, you would most likely also like 50 shades of gray, thoughtless series, bared to you and beautiful disaster to name a few. You won't be disappointed!

Must read! This book was so great, I couldn't put it down and recommended it to all my girlfriends. It reminded me of Beautiful Disaster and I was so sad when it ended. I am so excited for the next book to come out!
