Just when she is starting to figure it out with him, her world is tilted once again with a phone call from none other than Ramsey Bridges. Despite the explosive chemistry between Lexi and Ramsey, she is skeptical about trusting him after everything that has happened. When things are amiss with him, she starts questioning his motives. Once upon a time I found a book on fictionpress. This book introduced me to a tale of love, angst, regret, turmoil, and holy hot sex. I became immediately addicted and spent the following two days reading not only the first book, but the second as well. This treasure of a find is called the Avoiding Series. At the time, Avoiding Responsibility, the second book wasn't even completed. So what did I do??? I tracked (stalked) down the author's info and contacted her (begged) about her plans to finish the book. I may have also encouraged (pressured) her to publish these truly spectacular books. And guess what??? SHE DID! Now I get to share my obsession with those of you who have and who've yet to read these amazing books. There have been a select few books/series that have stayed with me for days or weeks after I've finished them. This is one of those series for me. In Avoiding Commitment, I met Lexi and Jack. These two had an undeniable sexual connection. They were a part of each other's past and had a terrible time letting go of their obsession with each other. Needless to say, things did not end well for them in the end. Jack is now engaged to be married to a horrid, horrid girl named Bekah. Not only is Jack engaged, but Lexi has found herself entangled with Bekah's smokin hot brother Ramsey *sigh*. Now we get to dive in to Avoiding Responsibility. I'm not going to give a run down of the story, because you MUST read it for yourself. However, I will say that this book was the perfect sequel. The ending of AC wasn't wrapped up in a neat little bow. I was left feeling unsettled and anxious. Plus, I really wanted Lexi to be with Ramsey. So, we start out a year after the end of AC and A LOT has happened in that year. Don't worry, you get to see what all happened within that year and how it leads up to where Lexi and Ramsey's relationship stands at this point. Lexi has definitely made some bad choices in relationships in the past. I love that her character is flawed. It makes her more realistic to me. The thing I appreciated the most in this book was that Lexi finally takes responsibility for her actions. Not only with her relationship and the destruction she caused with Jack, but with her relationship with Ramsey. Ramsey is also flawed. Yes, he has lived a privileged life and is a powerful guy in general. But, Ramsey is real. What he feels is real. He has tried desperately to separate himself from his family and make a name for himself. There is also a darkness to his character. He has some issues from his past that surface and cause major problems in his relationship with Lexi. However, Ramsey doesn't give up on fighting for Lexi. He's completely committed to her and wants her in his life. He is seriously...perfect. I had the privilege of beta reading this book and I have to say that I fell even more in love with these characters and this story the second time around. Lexi and Ramsey have a magnetic relationship that pulls you in and makes you want to see them make it work. Not to mention the sexual chemistry. I mean...seriously WOW. The sex scenes were vamped up a bit and definitely got my heart rate up and the panties at a steady level 5. In fact, prep yourself with whatever tools, (toys) you may need to get through the following scenes: after the rehearsal dinner, angry sex, and the "I love you" scene. And yes I admit, I re-read those scenes "multiple" times. If you can't tell, I love this series (it's an all-time favorite) and AR made my heart happy. These characters have become such a big part of my life. I will be anxiously waiting for the third book to release. K.A. Linde is an author to watch. She is a natural writer and story teller. She writes raw, realistic, and gritty love stories that will entrance you from the first page. I guarantee we will be seeing some great things from her in the future. If you haven't started this series yet, you are seriously missing out. SERIOUSLY. RUN to get it!

Reading K.A. Linde's Avoiding series reminds me of the time back in high school when I was totally addicted to watching daytime soap operas. All the sex, lies, and drama was so over-the-top and inconceivable but for some reason I could not tear my eyes away from it. Just like with Avoiding Commitment, K.A. Linde had my stomach in knots and my nerves on edge while reading Avoiding Responsibility. If you are into high-octane drama, then you'll want to hang on tight because Avoiding Responsibility will take on one bumpy and emotional ride. Avoiding Responsibility begins one year after the events that took place in Avoiding Commitment. A lot has happened since Lexi left Jack back in Atlanta. Lexi has finally rid herself of the dysfunctional and tumultuous relationship she had with Jack Howard and has recently been spending some time with a sexy mystery man. When Avoiding Responsibility opens up, Lexi is actually pretty happy and just enjoying her current status. But per the usual, Lexi's life doesn't stay drama free for very long. Just as she's enjoying her time with mystery man, Ramsey Bridges reemerges back into her life. You find out that Lexi and Ramsey reconnected after she returned to New York and that they were in a relationship for a year before things turned sour. I won't go into all the sordid details of their relationship because a lot does happen but in typical K.A. Linde fashion a lot of drama ensues between Lexi and Ramsey. Just because she's with a new guy doesn't mean that Lexi's love life is smooth sailing from here on out. Lexi wasn't the type of heroine that I instantly fell in love with. She had me questioning her morals and ethics in Avoiding Commitment and definitely made some pretty horrible decisions when it came to her love life. But even with all the questionable decisions she'd made, I couldn't totally dislike her. Unlike some female characters who saw no wrong in what they did (*Ahem*...Kiera from S.C. Stephens Thoughtless), Lexi acknowledged her mistakes and took responsibility. She's flawed and she knows that, which made her more realistic. In Avoiding Responsibility, Lexi has come to terms with all the destructive behaviors in her relationships with Jack and Ramsey and makes an effort to not follow in the same footsteps. I really commended her for her effort and was glad to see her grow and move forward. When I finished Avoiding Commitment I was totally on the Team Ramsey bandwagon. Although his character was still a little sketchy and questionable I had hopes for him. He's nowhere near perfect even though you'd think otherwise with his blonde hair, handsome face, perfect physique, and Country Club look. He's has his own secrets to hide and definitely has just as much baggage as Lexi. Although he grew up privilege he's nothing like the rest of his family, especially his sister. He's independent, strong willed, determined, and aspired to be his own man. His dedication to Lexi and willingness to do whatever it took to make her happy is what really sold me on him. He definitely made more of an effort than Jack ever did to show Lexi that she was his one and only and that she would always be his number one. Obviously a few characters from Avoiding Commitment make a reappearance in Avoiding Responsibility, namely Jack and Bekha (of course!). These two really need an award from me because they are two of my most hated people. Jack is still a lying, cheating, coward who can't make up his damn mind. His indecisiveness is really quite pathetic and I honestly just wanted to kick the guy in the gonads. His fiancé Bekah isn't any better. She's still little Miss Debutante sitting on her high horse and things she can continue to manipulate people. Really, she and Jack are perfect together and I really wished them a lifetime of unhappiness and misery. Lexi's best friend Chyna is still a major part of her life and I just love this girl. I loved seeing her Chyna always ready to have Lexi's back and quite honestly I was crossing my fingers that Chyna would finally waltz into Atlanta and just give Bekah a piece of her Italian-New Yorker mind. I was ready for the claws to come out. While I was satisfied with the ending, everything wasn't neatly tied up into a perfect little bow. I can definitely see more out of this series and I welcome the drama. Miss Linde will just have to give me a little time because I don't think my body could handle taking that much stress. Like I said, Avoiding Responsibility is high-octane drama with so many lies thrown around that you never know where the story is going to end up. K.A Linde definitely takes you on one crazy and emotional train ride full of angst but for some reason it's not one you'll want to jump out of once you're in. It's so easy to get sucked into the tumultuous relationships and the dysfunctionality of these people. I wouldn't be too surprised to see this series being picked up by a major publisher soon. With the trend they've been following lately, Linde's Avoiding series fits the angst ridden tales publishers have been seeking out. If you haven't started this series, I suggest you do because it's pretty awesome and you'll definitely enjoy the ride.

This is the second book in this derirs This is the second book in this series, and it was just as good as the first. The only reason I'm not giving these books 5 stars was i really don' t care for the back and forth present to past writting style. But other than that this series is great!!

Call me crazy but I still love Jack! We all have that special someone who got away or the timing wasn't right and I want Jack to announce to all that he truly and only loves Lex.

Read book one before this book. Then read 2.5, all about Chyna. This is such a great book but it can't be the ending, Jack and Lexi still have so much more to say. And I need more Ramsey.

Love Triangle or Love Square? Seriously how could Lexi go back again and again?  You absolutely wanted to find out how she could not stop herself from going back to Jack?  Finally you feel like perhaps the ending ties up the loose ends of her troubled romance(s).  Good book but thought the first one was better.

I don't think it's possible for me to fully explain my thoughts on Avoiding Responsibility to someone who hasn't read it and Avoiding Commitment. At first glance, the story and its characters seem beyond belief. But when you look closer, and really think about the story, things become much clearer and the true meaning shows itself. I was worried when I started Avoiding Responsibility; to the point that I almost didn't. I didn't want Lexie's character growth to backslide. I wanted to be rid of Jack and Bekah for good. I wasn't even sure if I wanted her to be with Ramsey. I just wanted Lexie to be okay. Once I got started, though, I really didn't want to stop reading. Although not as dysfunctional as in Avoiding Commitment, the relationships in this series still felt like a disaster waiting to happen. I spent the entire time waiting for the shizz to hit the fan. And, oh boy, it sure did in the end. But in the most awesome way. Seriously, the ending of Avoiding Responsibility was so awesome that a totally bounced and giggled in my bed. At 2:00 am. The one issue I have with the series, other than wanting to rip my hair out over Lexie's decisions, was that it was repetitious. There is a lot of internal dialogue, Lexie repeatedly reminiscing about how much she loved Jack, loves Jack, hates Jack. At this point, I get it. Seriously. The Avoiding Series is not a love story. At least, not yet. This is the journey of a girl with some really mixed up beliefs on what love truly is. And don't forget, Lexie was nineteen when the story begins, hardly at the age to "know better". The girl showed massive, massive character development, throughout the story and by the end, she rocked it. I'm not sure what's going to happen going forward, there are a few different directions Linde could spin it. Where I was once hesitant, now I'm excited.

Holy mother...this is an awesome book. Loved the first book, craved the second. Literally could not put the book down. Ignored everyone, only got 3 hours sleep because I had to know what was going to happen on the next page. Finished it one day! Tell me is there going to be a book 3 in this series?

Avoiding Responsibility is the second book in the Avoiding series and is told in the same past/present fashion as AC. ….Once again it all start with a phone call. Now, I know storyline wise the question had to be asked to get them where they need to be but DAMN Ramsey has some pair on him!!! I’ve been #TeamJack from the beginning but actually found myself being able to accept Lexi and Ramsey dating and thought he was good for her. That was until more of the story unfolded. We’re introduced to Lexi’s mystery man and we get to see Chyna’s parents in action. All of our favorites AND not so favorite characters are all back. In the end it’s still Lexi’s story about her learning to deal with finding her place in the world and among the men in her life. - “I want to escape with you, Jack.” “I’ll always be your escape, Lex.” Lexi couldn’t deny how true that was.

LOVING THIS SERIES I know, I know, I am late to the party! I am FINALLY getting to pick up each of the books in this series and start reading them. While I have had these on my to read list FOREVER and on my kindle just as long, I just started being able to get to them in the past few months. My regret is that I had not "made" the time to get to them sooner. One thing that I can tell you about this series is that the author is a queen of angst and a heartbreaker. I am afraid she is wanting to rip our hearts out and stomp on them…. Only time will tell – when I get to the conclusion of this series. I have to say that I have become very wrapped up in this series and I now understand what all the obsession over it truly was. Although, I am dying to finish it up and move to the next book, I am feeling that I waited so long to start that I want to stretch it out a little bit longer. I flew through this book (and it is not a short book), once I started, I just "had to" finish it. Nothing else was going to get done until I did. KA has created such an angsty series here and I am HOOKED. After finishing Avoiding Commitment, KA asked me who I liked, while I liked the "idea" of Jack in a happily ever after – I hated Jack just the same (that sentence was not a spoiler). Ramsey…. after book one, the jury was still out on him. Now after finishing Avoiding Responsibility, I could answer that question a little bit better, BUT I won’t tell YOU my answer if you have not read this yet – roller coasters are more fun when you don’t know when the drops are going to be. I would love to hear what team you are on while you read. Beware, you may be switching a few times! If you were like me and did not start this series yet, make sure to make time for it now. I am so glad I did and can’t wait to read the next and finally not have to cover my ears when anyone starts discussing how the series ended!
