Don't expect a single dull moment - as there are none! OMG I just saw Warrick Voclain on 5th Ave! #DragonSighting #DragonInMyPants #Dragons #RuinedForAllOtherMen. AWAKENED BY FIRE by Erin Kellison is the second fantastic installment in the author's Dragons of Bloodfire series and my favorite of the series so far! I laughed, swooned and even trembled as I turned the pages at stressful points. There were intense, action-packed fights, cute dialogue and yummy adult lovefests! In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Thane and Emerson from the first book! This was the story of Warrick Voclain, a sexy billionaire dragon shifter and Bloodkin Triad member, and Samantha Vince, the granddaughter of Warrick's long-time trusted steward. Warrick is hot, hot, hot and his public appearances set off tweet storms as evidenced by the opening quote to this review. As this tale begins, Samantha has returned home for a family wedding but, what was meant as a short trip, quickly becomes much longer as Warrick's mother demands that Samantha use her secret special gifts to protect her son. However, if Samantha's forbidden magic is exposed while finding the bad guys targeting Warrick, the rules require that she be killed. Warrick is actually one of those tasked with enforcing that rule. Now, Samantha must walk a fine line. She worries about her beloved grandfather suffering consequences if she's caught and about losing independence she's fought so hard for. She must stay under everyone's radar and somehow keep from succumbing to the hot chemistry between her and the powerful dragon that comes to the fore as they chase down leads and threats. Meanwhile, Warrick has never felt this way about a human before and dragons are possessive to the extreme. Erin is one of my favorite authors. I loved this story - and, great news (!!!!), there's no cliffhanger! This book works well as a standalone, if that is your preference. I bet once you read this story, you'll fall under the author's spell and want to read the first book, too. I can't wait for the next book - SEDUCED BY FIRE! There's a short preview of SEDUCED BY FIRE at the end of this read and, believe me, it will stoke your craving for the next book now! I highly recommend AWAKENED BY FIRE to anyone who enjoys steamy paranormal reads packed with loads of magic and thrills! Just don't expect a single dull moment - as there are none! What an absolutely extraordinary and fascinating read this was. The storyline was very complex, but it totally enthralled me and kept my interest throughout. The bloodkin world is dangerous, its magic dark, and Samantha of all people knew this; she was stuck between two worlds and if she didn’t protect herself, it would rip her apart. But the Vines were family, if not by blood then by long association and had served the Voclain for generations – to the Voclains family is a priority. Thomas, Samantha’s grandfather, has betrayed his oath by giving Warrick’s blood to Samantha, thereby creating a Tempus. Lady Voclain, Warrick’s mother knew and had protected Samantha as a child, but now Warrick was her anchor. The Law was clear though, no Tempus could live; a Tempus could decimate dragon families by discovering and relaying their secrets. When Samantha is betrayed by her childhood friend, Brandon, Warrick doesn’t hesitate to save her life; his dragon demands it and the time for secrecy is now over. Warrick discovers that Samantha has been going back in time, but purely to keep him safe and to discover his enemies. Warrick is a member of the Triad, as is Xanthippe, but when her home and family are attacked, she wants revenge and seeks Samantha’s help, with a proviso. Brandon redeems himself when he warns Warrick of impending danger and a challenge, but can anyone defeat Warrick Voclain, the most powerful of bloodkin? And what of Samantha; a bloodkin wants her dead, but it is Samantha’s vision of the future that gives her that extra courage in the face of adversity. This was an exceptional and thrilling story to read, which I would have no hesitation in recommending. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

One not to miss New York Warrick Voclain is a Bloodkin Triad member and a billionaire dragon shifter who is no stranger to power. He is soon thrown for a loop when the granddaughter of his trusted steward seems to use illegal magic in his presence. A beautiful granddaughter that is both all grown up and successful in her own right. It is alarming as she seems to be using the magic to protect him. Samantha Vine has a secret gift that will get both her and her grandfather killed if she doesn’t stay under the radar. What she didn’t plan on was a quick visit home to turn into a weeks’ long visit and being in Warrick’s company but anyone that strikes at Warrick would also hurt her granddad. Warrick’s position on the Triad requires that he adhere to the rule of law that says the use of such magic is punishable by death. The attraction is stirring his blood and straining his control with the strength of it. In the shadows though are adversaries waiting. The best and easiest way to strike down a powerful dragon is to go for the heart. Which in Warrick’s case is Samantha. He will reshape the world into a safe one for her with fire and blood. Those that don’t bend to his will are going to burn. This is proving to be a great series. While each book can be read as a standalone they will prove to be much better if they are read in order. This book will also have readers eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. This series proves just how hot and sexy dragon shifters truly are. This is a series the readers will find addictive and want much more from this world of dragons and those they love.

Will hold the reader enthralled This is the second book to the Dragons of Bloodfire series and author Erin Kellison continues to hold the reader enthralled as she weaves a story of hidden secrets that if found out would lead to death for Samantha and her grandfather. I love how fearless Samantha is with protecting her grandfather and Warrick even when she just wants to run and hide from Warrick and his mother by going back to her business and home. This story tells of a long friendship between Samantha and Brandon which turns awkward over time. It deals with secrets that have been hidden for Samantha's whole life that come out. It speaks about compassion and anger at the same time and consequences of poor decisions. But more important it speaks about how loving someone and protecting them can also cause a loss of respect and trust in others that you love as well. The authors words so eloquently speak of all the feelings involved in these secrets. Samantha's gift adds to a large part of this story and it is so believable that I felt that I was her walking through all her experiences as she fought to keep Warrick alive. Warrick seemed so standoffish that it took me a while to warm up to him. I found his dedication to protecting those under his care admirable and as he got to spend more time with Samantha I quickly warmed up to him. His strategic personality is balanced by his need to protect and it shows throughout the book enhancing his character. No book is without malice or contention and this book is full of it with really, really dynamic fighting between dragons. I loved this book and give it 4 STARS for keeping me up all night to finish reading it. I bet you want to read it and see what all the fighting is about. A copy was gifted for an honest review.

What would you expect of a dragon? Arrogance, power, greed? Well then, you have a pretty good picture of Warrick. Now just add gorgeous and your picture is pretty complete. Now add a time traveling, firecracker of a human and just sit back and watch the flames! I loved this book and can't wait to read her next one! I received this ARC for an honest review. Honestly, you are going to love this spunky, quick-paced, flameboyant (pun intended) read!

Dragons Of Bloodfire is shaping up to be a new favorite series of mine! Kellison's books may be a little smaller, but they are MIGHTY! And who doesn't love freaking DRAGONS?! I was so excited for this sequel to Tempted by Fire, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I honestly loved everything about this book! Dragon shifters are quickly becoming my fave shifter of them all! The Blookdkin in particular. The Bloodkin in any form are just so intriguing!! The hierarchy, the different play on dragon tendencies, I especially liked how Warrick hoarded special moments like they were the most precious commodities around! Cue the swooning! I loved Samantha! She navigated the Bloodkin and their stewards alike, expertly! It was interesting to get someone that knew her way around this time. She was an old pro with these dragons! I was grateful she was not a steward though, her independent streak and the way she spoke to the dragon royalty as if they were just human sometimes was great! She had the perfect rations of spunk and common sense. She knew when to push and when not to. And her secret ended up being something really cool that opened this world that Kellison has created even more. Not to mention it was a rather unique concept that I haven't read before, and now a days, or maybe just with the amount of books I consume, it is just so darn rare (and refreshing!) to see genuinely NEW concepts and fantastic beings! It is nice to be surprised with something new once in awhile, and I got that here. Oh and did I also mention the DRAGONS?? Okay, yeah I think I did, but really who could ever get enough of that?! There may or may not have been an epic dragon showdown in this book too...but I guess you'll just have to pick up the book and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed! I can't wait to see what the next installment in this series has in store for us!! My expectations and excitement are both VERY high at this point! I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Billionaire dragon shifter and Bloodkin Triad member Warrick Voclain is no stranger to power. But when his trusted steward's beautiful granddaughter--all grown up and successful in her own right--seems to be using illegal magic in his presence, he is thrown for a loop. And the fact that she's doing so to protect him? Alarming. Samantha Vine needs to stay under the radar, or her secret gift will get her and her granddad killed. She didn't intend for her quick visit home to stretch into weeks in Warrick's company, but anyone striking at Warrick would also hurt her granddad. Only she has the ability to see what's coming...though she'll need Warrick's help to stop it. The use of such magic is punishable by death, and Warrick's position on the Triad requires that he adhere to the rule of law. But the attraction between them is electric, stirring his blood and straining his control. Adversaries wait in every shadow, and the easiest way to strike down a powerful dragon is to go for the Warrick's case, Samantha. With fire and blood, he'll reshape the world into one that's safe for her. And those that don't bend to his will? They will burn.

In the second book of the series, we return to the world of the Bloodkin. In this instalment, we meet Warrick, the face of the Triad and one of the 'young' dragons at only one hundred and forty plus years. He is at his mother's home for a wedding in the family and is reunited with 'Sammy', a human child from his past. However, he soon realises that Sammy has grown up into Samantha, and he is all the more interested. The heat gets turned up when threats are made against the family and Samantha's secret is exposed to Warrick's mother, who makes her promise to help him. This is a fast-paced, well-written book, with a romance that is a slow burner. They actually know each other from the past, but take time to know each in the now before anything happens. The difference between how a dragon thinks and how a human does is clearly demonstrated. Recommended for all fans of adult dragon stories, with an intriguing world that continues to excite and thrill with each book. Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Samantha has a secret gift she is trying to keep hidden, however she needs to use it to protect Warrick. The magic Samantha used is punishable by death will Warrick protect her? This is a fast paced exciting story. The chemistry between Warrick and Samantha is hot. I was hooked from beginning to end. Looking forward to more in this series. Loved it!

Title: Awakened by Fire Author: Erin Kellison Genre: Paranormal Romance Format: Ebook Pages: 257 Rating: 5 Heat: 5 Main Characters: Samantha & Warrick Thoughts: As usual, I could not put this down. Ms. Kellison’s ability to create such wonderful worlds and memorable characters, draw me in time and time again leaving me breathless. Even though this was an HEA the ending still left me wondering about all the possible obstacles that can arise in any relationship after time which made it that much more realistic. The only real difference between this fantasy and real life was the time travel, dragons, and vampires. I loved how even though Sammy isn’t a dragon she doesn’t back down even when fighting one. She’s strong-willed and stubborn and doesn’t let fear hold her back. I can’t wait for the next book! I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Part two of the Dragons of Bloodfire series really kicks it up a notch. Longer than I was expecting, but there's no padding, and certainly no boring bits. The history, customs and society of the characters is detailed and well thought out, providing a strong framework for the storyline. Something I particularly like about the dragon shifters is that even in human form they have a dark, dangerous side, for which they are unapologetic. It marks them as truly different, and gives a satisfying depth to their kind. This could probably be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the first book in the series before it anyway. Copy received in exchange for an honest review.

Gifted copy for honest review. I really enjoyed reading Awakened by Fire. This is a story about Warrick and Samantha. Warrick is a powerful dragon shifter and member of the Triad. Thomas is his trusted steward and Sammy is his granddaughter. She has a gift that can get the both of them killed. Someone is after Warrick and Sammy keeps him safe by traveling back in time to see if anything is not right. Sammy so becomes a target as well. I loved the ending and can't wait for the next one.

I loved returning to the Bloodfire series. Tempted by Fire was awesome and book 2 was just as fun and enjoyable. Samantha and Warrick were strong characters that worked well together, and the conflicts fit within the story and kept the story moving quickly. I enjoyed watching them come together, though I have to admit I wanted more moments of passion because it was clear that these two could be explosive together. The final battle Samantha took part in was great! She kicked serious ass and her moment when she reaches out to Warrick during his battle to make sure he didn't kill more than their enemies while consumed in his battle lust: "I'm cold, Warrick. I'm cold, and I hurt...Look with human eyes. You know me. I belong to you," the voice said. "You were very clear on that point. But you also belong to me, which is why I'm not leaving..." The voice drifted off, and he found he missed it. "You have eighteen freckles," he said without having to look. But the human woman wasn't there anymore. ... Oh, God. Samantha. Loved that scene and what follows (Don't worry, I didn't give enough to spoil it), I just thought that was so poignant. I'm excited to find out what happens in book 3 and I hope that Mack makes more of an appearance in the series. Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Copy received in exchange for honest review. While I enjoyed the first book in the series, I must say this second book outdoes it. I had a great time reading this installment of dragon shifter romance. Warrick and Samantha have a history and it doesn't involve love - in fact, it doesn't involve much of anything as Samantha struck out on her own, leaving the dragons behind. But there is more to her than it seems, and so much more going on in their world after Thane and Ember's adventure in book 1. It is an excellent adventure with a love story added in, plenty of plot to keep it moving without feeling like romance is the only goal.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle: Erin captivates once again with her latest installment of the Dragons of Bloodfire series! Samantha Vine left the world of dragons to pursue her independence and stay off the radar, but one step back on Voclain property and her world is changed forever. Her secret is out, she's basically being blackmailed, and to top it all off, she has to spend every day with the dragon who sets her heart ablaze. Warrick has his hands full being lord of the Reds and trying to find a replacement for Godric Tredan on the Council. Even though he's probably the most modern of dragons alive--despite being older than dirt--he finds himself embroiled in the fallout of plots from eons ago. And it's all compounded by the interference of his steward and his steward's granddaughter, the one woman Warrick knows he should only protect, but can't help but desire above all others. Awakened by Fire delivers a twist-filled miasma of wonderfulness full of danger, deceit, revenge, and passion, perfectly balanced with light-hearted dialogue and captivating characters that you won't want to leave when the last page is turned. If you're a dragon shifter fan, I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is book #2 of the series (book #1 is Tempted by Fire), but stands perfectly well on its own. I've followed Erin's journey since her very first book, Shadow Bound. And her Reveler series has grabbed (and kept) a place in my top 5 favorite series of all time list. But this...this book just might be my favorite of Erin's to-date! *Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review
