Evangeline always does an amazing job when it comes to writing this series. Each book has been amazing. I truly loved this story. Caden who was a Jor’gen Kindred had no faith no desire to find love. I found that sad. I love how no matter how much the kindreds at time loose faith that the goddess never looses faith in them. I tried to put myself in Maddy’s shoes. I could not imagine being clone. If I ever found out would I be mad or thankful. I would like to think I would be thankful. Caden and Maddy will have their challenges a head of them. I love how Caden is welling to meet those challenges head on for the woman he loves. This was an awesome story a glad I got a chance to read the book.

The giants are back! So thrilled to see the Jor'gen Kindred again. We have new aliens, the Mentats, and science research involving cloning. In pursuit of knowledge our Kindred giant, Calden, clones a female who is found on a destroyed spaceship. What a surprise for him when he begins to have feelings for Maddie despite pledging to not have any emotions while working with the Mentats. Maddie has been thrown into an unknown world with aliens and an environment foreign to her while learning she is the loan survivor of her spaceship. She adapts to her new environment and finds herself drawn to Calden, but Calden knows a secret she doesn't about her safety on the Mentat station. The race is on for her safety as time ticks away and will she ever see Earth again. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Awakened by the Giant: Brides of the Kindred - Evangeline Anderson The Kindred species had run out of females and became genetic traders, bonding with compatible females throughout the universe. The Jor’gen Kindred bred with a race of giant people developing a mixed rate that is 30% larger than the norm. Now the Jor’gen have run out of females as well and have left on their mother ship to search for compatible females (bonding fruit included- an aphrodisiac that also helps females fit the extra large Jor’gen anatomy). One of the Jor’gens names Calden did not wish to pursue a mates life and chose to join a Mentat Science Station ruled by an AI called Father. Their rules are strict and many horrible, not only banning females but forcing all the species they study to have termination dates. This was heartbreaking on so many levels. Calden has come across a human who was killed in a space accident and was given permission to clone her. Madeline Harris wakes up confused on an alien ship horrified in a regent tank and mortified that everyone else on her ship was killed. Calden doesn’t have to heart to tell her at this time that she is cloned and the Father has forced him to put a termination unit in her as well. As time goes by Calden and Maddie can’t fight the bond nor the sexual attraction between them. The whole storyline of their building relationship, sensual erotic well placed connections , exciting, dangerous thrilling need to escape and find help had me read this story in one sitting. It has all the feels, excitement, sexy romantic, suspenseful elements expected of Ms. Anderson’s excellent writing. It does not necessarily need to be read in order, has some great reunions with beloved characters on the Mother Ship and will leave you with a smile. Just don’t forget that Bonding Fruit!

Maddie is one of my top five favorite female leads. She was more aggressive and knew what she wanted. If you've read any other of the Kindred novels than you know that alot of the females are up in the air about whether they should or shouldn't get with the Kindred....for whatever reason. Maddie was more assertive and ready to take action. I loved that!!!! I love the other books but it's nice to see that Alpha female in there too!!! I loved getting a story from one of the Giant Kindred, I was anticipating it and wasn't disappointed in any way. Can't wait for more Kindred!!!! The story line was good and opened up the line for anew set of “bad guys” if that is what she wanted. I love all the Kindred and the Giant Kindred are no exception. The character development and relationship seemed a bit rushed but it had a good flow. The only thing I would have liked was more on why the boding fruit was different with her and if it was somehow sentient. Another great story and can’t wait to read more. This is a great addition to the Kindred books. It’s a well written self-contained story that’s very entertaining to read. This is Calden and Maddys story. Calden is a giant Jor’gen Kindred. The Jor’gen Kindred split off from the regular Kindred a few hundred years ago. Madeline Harris is the only human body found along with other samples of earth animals on a shipwreck. I say body found because she died on that shipwreack but is cloned by Calden in the name of science with the AI – Fathers permission. This story always has lots going on be it action or the love story growing between the two. I highly recommend this story to read.

I spent a lazy Sunday afternoon curled up with this book totally engrossed. I do love these Kindred men, far removed from reality...or are they? Calden is a 3 metre tall Giant Kindred dwarfing Maddy who at 5'10" probably felt like a big girl on Earth. Calden has a secret about Maddy, once she discovers will their relationship fall apart? The bad guys as usual will make you shudder and of course the Goddess will make everything turn out right. I really enjoyed the romance between these two characters and the race for survival.

When I first read through the basic description of this Evangeline Anderson Tales of the Kindred, I just didn't see how this one could work. But, having read all the Brides of the Kindred as well as the Tales, I had to read it! Wow, it turned out to be a page-turner that I couldn't put down. I feel guilty now ever having doubted this author. She really delivered in what may be one of my favorites. The biggest problem, of course, (no pun intended) is our hero, a giant of the Kindred. He is not your fee-fi-fo-fum giant, but a 9-foot tall intellectual Kindred who has sworn off any emotion forever. The second problem is our heroine, who was killed when her spaceship from Earth was destroyed by a huge asteroid. Our hero has the scientific know-how to clone her. The catch is the race he lives with and works with are led by an AI dictator who insists all clones must have an "off" switch implanted, which determines the length of the lives various clones have. Will our heroine just be "offed" after the hero begins to have feelings for her? Can all her fears be put to rest? Can she even survive on a science ship when the race in charge also wants to claim her? How will our hero respond to her, knowing she is a clone?
