What People are Saying About This

Judd Apatow

This is the best book of embarrassing and strange photos of people who look like my family that I have ever seen.

Karen McCullah Lutz

I wept with laughter fourteen times while reading this book and snorted aloud twice. I dare you to find a higher weep/snort ratio in any other publication. (Karen McCullah Lutz, screenwriter of Legally Blonde and The Ugly Truth)

Mia Kirshner

Awkward Family Photos is the funniest book that I've read in a long time. It reminds you that it's okay to laugh at yourself and celebrates the family that made you awkward in the first place. (Mia Kirshner, The L Word)

Amanda Goldberg

Awkwardness has never looked so cool. Finally there's a book that celebrates the cringe-worthy family photo we all have buried in an album somewhere. (Amanda Goldberg, New York Times bestselling author of Celebutantes)

David Byrne

Being a test tube baby doesn't seem such a bad idea after looking at these folks. I laughed till it hurt. To paraphrase Tolstoy... every family is freaky in its own way. There's so much love here- but maybe a little more pain, or desperation, or bewilderment. I often feel slightly sad or guilty that I'm not closer with my own family- but looking at this bunch I sense we all have something in common and I'm far from being alone.

Joel Stein

Anything that both makes me laugh and think my family isn't so embarrassing deserves to be a book. (Joel Stein, Time Magazine columnist)

Adam Herz

Awkward Family Photos is absolutely hysterical, yet at the same time, it's a stunningly accurate photographic record of the late 20th century American family. Now I can be certain I was not alone in my awkwardness. (Adam Herz, Writer, American Pie I, II, III)

I love this book! It is the perfect gift for the awkward one in your family; admit it, everyone has one. I am an avid visiter, and I love the pictures. All of the pictures are hilarious, and you can even relate some of them to your own family. They are very random, and my friends and I love to look at them together and pick out our favorite ones. This book has some of my favorite awkward photos, such as 'The Arm Shelf'. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to laugh at genuinely funny pictures, laugh at awkward people, or is just plain awkward themselves. This book is hilarious and you won't be sorry after you buy it!

What a great stocking stuffer. My husband is always hard to buy for but this was a great book for him. He loved it as did the rest of the family.

I bought this book as a gift for friends and family -- everyone loves it. In fact, I have never bought so many copies of any book in my life. I keep copies around to give away. It is a terrifically funny book. The photos are great -- and the captions, in many cases, are even better.

I brought a copy of this book for my Dad, who is the king of the family photos. He loved it. For my Mom, I brought "When God Stopped Keeping Score." She loved that book too, especially the story of the mother, the daughter and the rock and the one about the father, the son and the bible.

This was funny, but I would NOT recommend buying it for that much. Based on other reveiws, I expected it to be hilarious, but some of the pictures didn't even make sense.

I can relate to these stories. Im an older sister with two younger siblings, and we had to do something similar like the family on the front. I was on the bottom, which made it all the more akward
