AWRY is beautiful, heart-wrenching, mysterious, and left me aching for more when I finished reading it! The love triangle is more complicated, the curse ever changing, the fountain 'just-around-the-corner', and the suspense still killing me! Chelsea Fine managed to make me cry, scream, and laugh almost within pages of this book! I loved LOVED the backstory and was SO glad we got so much of it...I could have read all about the past for about three hundred pages more (but that's just because I am a complete historical romance nut) ;) but she did so well in weaving the past with the present. There was ne'r a dull moment in AWRY, the book was ever moving forward and onward toward more unveiling of the secret of the fountain, the boys' immortality, the curse, and much much more. I enjoyed the presence of every character in each scene - everyone in her cast of characters plays such a vital role in the story, and I was truly rooting for each one to find what it was they were looking for :) Beautifully scripted, perfectly written, and I am aching to find out what happens to our beloved Scarlet, Tristan, and Gabriel in the next one...BRAVO!!

Tension, trials, and troubles? Ooh.. Yes, plenty of all three.  Awry had a little of "middle book syndrome," because you already know the back story about the curse and now they're just searching for the Fountain of Young.  Which they don't figure out the location until the very end when Scarlet again yells, "I know where the fountain is!"  Thus ending the book, exactly like the last one...   The author was smart by having flashbacks to the character's past, expanding and broadening their personalities.  Also, you get to know Nate's character with his goofy, nerdy personality.  As always, Heather is a great balance of humor and seriousness, bringing just the right level of lightheartedness the novel to the novel.    Zombies? Really... Ashmen end up being zombies, which just doesn't fit with the overall theme of the novel.  They should have been something else, like assassins or monsters.  Secondly, the mastermind should have been different, like a big corporation out for the eternal water or other immortals searching for it.  The main villain just didn't work for me; it made it corny.  Also, it is tiresome when Scarlet acted like Tristan didn't like her at all, when it's been established that Tristan does in fact like her.  But that quickly ended half way through the novel.  On a good note, Scarlet finally broke up with Gabriel, realizing she just has a "friendship" feeling towards him.  I liked that the author didn't drag the whole Scarlet/Gabriel love relationship out. Overall, the book was average with a little bit of "middle book syndrome."  However, I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and story line and will definitely be reading the final installment Avow.

Very good book. It's really refreshing to read a book that is outside of the trends of young adult books these days. The ending will have you flying to the nearest computer or bookstore to buy the next one.

This wonderful sequel picks up right where the first novel, Anew, left off, throwing the reader right into the midst of tragedy and bloodshed, captivating them from the very first page. If you haven’t yet read Anew, then I highly suggest you do, because it’s amazing, and Awry is just as enticing and mind blowing as the first! These are books you don’t want to miss, and I’m already eagerly awaiting the next installment in this riveting series! In the first novel, we meet Scarlet and the drop-dead gorgeous Archer twins, Gabriel and Tristan. Together, they embark on a journey to help Scarlet survive her curse, and it’s an extremely well written, entertaining read concerning reincarnation, the fountain of youth, and witchcraft. I was mesmerized by the first novel, though not all my questions were answered in the first installment. Now, insert Awry. In this captivating novel, we are given glimpses into all the characters’ pasts. We are drawn into the story and watch it unfold as we learn just who met Scarlet first, how she came to love both twins, and how the betrayal of Gabriel and Tristan’s father brought about the curse in a round-about way. This story shifts between past and present, and as Scarlet begins to remember her past, putting together the mystery surrounding the fountain of youth, the novel become impossible to set aside. I ended up reading this book in one sitting; it’s that’s intense and amazing… especially as we realize, along with the characters, that the curse casting witch isn’t actually out of the picture…

Seriously, Chelsea Fine managed to improve on what I already thought was a great series! Awry picks up directly from the cliffhanger from Anew. Scarlet's death and the emotions it invokes in both Gabriel and Tristan feels so incredibly real. The readers have been kept in the dark for the most part and finally so many questions are answered. She has mastered giving just enough information to keep readers grasping for more! There is something so tragically beautiful about this book and the relationship or lack thereof between Scarlet and Tristan. And then on top of that you have Gabriel and his curse thrown in there. There is a lot of background of their past lives in this one and I thought it brought a whole new level to the story. The ending, wow! Could it be more perfect? I can not wait to see what comes next! If you have not already read this series, what are you waiting for? Go pick it up NOW!

Review from SlicedOpenReviews(dot)com Come on, did any of you really think this book would fall short after reading ANEW? Shame on you if you just said yes...SHAME! THE ARCHERS OF AVALON series is one of my favorites, for sure! After reading ANEW, book one in the series, I was like a crazed animal in need of food. I scavenged the internet hoping that AWRY would release soon but, I found nothing on the release date for weeks and weeks. Then, BAM here it is and I was able to breathe again! Thankfully the story in AWRY picks up right where ANEW ended, with Scarlet taking a deadly shot from the arrow and dying. With that, we are suddenly thrust back into the swing of things with Tristan and Gabriel, the hot Archer brothers, oh and there is more Nate and Heather too! Chelsea Fine did an excellent job with this book. She was able to maintain the story and the characters as well as her writing enable you to flawlessly flow from one scene to the next. That is one of the things I love most about her, each time you move from one section to the next in her books, there is no jumble or lost thought, it just moves seamlessly. With a plot line like Scarlet's you totally need that too. The ever changing life(s) and the unraveling of the curse totally build up in this book. Keeping you constant attention, total nail biter! Every time you think you have it figured out, something new happens and suddenly you feel like your back at square one! But fear not, *sigh* the beautiful Archer Brothers, Tristan and Gabriel, put up a dang good fight for Scarlet throughout the book. And, oh there is some super steamy moments for....I'm not going to tell would ruin it, but, just be prepared! Lastly, in true Chelsea Fine fashion, we are left again...wondering...waiting...with a Giant Cliffhanger! So, until the next book...enjoy!

As others have stated, this book did everything it should have: it answered questions, raised a few more, and ended with a heart stopping (literally) cliffhanger. Mark my words, this is the next big YA series. It has hot immortal twins, a Star Wars loving nerd that we secretly love, an evil witch we LOVE to hate, a bad ass girl protag, and a loyal, albeit annoyingly girlie BFF. Go Team Awesome!

Alright, Book 2 of this series did exactly what it was supposed to do! It answered some of my questions, asked some more, and made me itching to read the next one. Scarlet has come back to life again, but this time, things are different. Her connection to Tristan is stronger, her relationship with Gabriel is more complicated, and she still can't remember her past lives. Meanwhile, the curse is still very much in play and time is running out before it kills both Scarlet AND someone else...permanently. Book 2 switches back and forth between flashbacks of Tristan, Gabriel and Scarlet way back in the 1500s when they all first met and modern day when their lives are on the line. With a map to the fountain of youth they can't read, an enemy that seems to know them way too well, and indestructible Ash Men pillaging their homes, this group is running out of time. If the motley crew of Nate the nerd, Heather the best friend, the two Archer brothers and Scarlet can't find the fountain of youth in time, they might lose, not just one, but TWO of their members. But they aren't the only ones looking for the fountain. Someone close to them is hunting it down as well, and will not hesitate to take a few lives if they stand in the way. So, really, I LOVED the flashbacks with Tristan, Gabriel, and Scarlet. It made me like all of them so much more! I can totally understand why they are who they are now and the way the perspective weaved in and out of flashbacks and modern day was so great. Heather cracks me up! And Nate! I laughed out loud in almost every scene they were in...and the dynamic between Gabriel and Heather made me hope for something more there. Overall, this book did not disappoint at was everything a sequel should be and I can't wait to see what happens when they finally embark on their search for the fountain of youth!

Wow. I loved it. The main story was awesome and I also really liked seeing back to the 1500s when all this started. I loved that we got to see more of who Scarlet really is and her relationships with the brothers.

You will not be able to put this book down and you will wonder about Tristan and Scarlett as though they are close friends of yours. The ease of conversation and spirit of adventure will keep you hooked!

Scarlet Jacobs is cursed to die and come back to life over and over again—sometimes skipping years, other times skipping centuries—all because she carries part of the immortal blood of another. But this time it's different. When Scarlet died pierced by the arrow, she came back to life minutes later still in the present. This can only mean one thing, the curse is changing. Suddenly her connection to Tristan amplifies, so much that now she can feel his pain when they're not together. The race to find the Fountain of Youth becomes deadlier than ever, with Ashmen attacking, and the inevitable death of Scarlet, or possibly Tristan. Be prepared because Chelsea Fine's Awry will give your heart a serious workout in this second installment of The Archers of Avalon. Love, betrayal, curses, heartache! This time we get to read about Scarlet and the Archer boy's past in interlacing chapters. Scarlet and Tristan's first encounter, Gabriel's first love, the curse!!!...I have never wanted to read flashbacks so bad in my life. Let me tell you, Scarlet was even more badass then than she is in the present! And it's who she can be again once she gets her memories back. It just made me love Scar even more. That being said, my freaking heart was breaking with their past story. Now I knew the real depth of their feelings for each other, and reading the present story and how badly the curse had messed everything up made me want to cry. The curse is seriously messed up, but people…this is how I like love triangles. Cursed and deadly. The Archer boys were their amazing selves once again. Tristan was just flawless, and I mean flawless. I could feel his love for Scarlet emanating from the pages. All that he did for her in their past life, and his patience and unfaltering love for her in the present is admirable. I still wasn't in love with Gabriel being with Scarlet because of the curse, especially when he got all overprotective and stuff. But I did like when he accepted Scarlet wishes and backed off. Regardless of which Archer brother you end up loving, there only one thing to say, and that is that Scarlet is one lucky girl! The plot was fast-paced, intriguing, action packed, and full of humor! The supporting characters were once again a blast. Heather still has the best one-liners ever, and Nate isn't far behind with his nerdom exploding at the weirdest moments. I loved that these two got bigger parts this time around. Only think that irked me was why they didn't search Laura's place early. It seemed like they just kept putting it off for no reason, or forgetting about it. The last chapters flew by! When my Kindle marked 98% I wanted to scream, and holy crap, that was a badass ending! I liked Anew, but I LOVED Awry.

This is the way to continue a series!! Awry is the second installment of The Archers of Avalon series. The story picks up immediately from were Anew left off pulling readers further into the depths of this story. Delivery of this novel varied from book one, and I found it to be a truly talented display of presentation. As the author builds the story through the alternating past and present pov's; it will seems as though the past continues building this powerful and tragic story, but all the while the present is falling apart as they run out of time and options. Scarlet and the two Archers continue their mouth watering romance triangle, but this story offered me a much more depressing view. As I watched the past unfold it is absolutely terrible that their lives played out so horrifically. Fate played all of these characters a very dirty hand, and it continues in a ceaseless rain that has no signs of stopping. This was page turner, and I believe it was even better than the first. The overall mood of this book is a majorly depressing one, and everything that we know of the story completely falls apart. With nothing left to salvage it is easy to see the end coming, but with the couple slight unexpected turn of events the entire series will spin out of continue. What remains in the couple available sentences following the conclusion left me hanging on the ledge of anticipation for the next book. The cards have been shuffled and redealt, and the future of this series is changing. Don't miss out catch up now, so that you can enjoy the ride of this thrilling series.  ~BookWhisperer Reviewer JO~

Picking up right where Anew ends, you're immediately pulled back into the story and trying to understand what's happening, just as the characters are. And then you'll be like: Wait a second. What is going on? That's how I felt, especially when the flashbacks start coming, where you'll see a beautiful love story unfolding before your eyes. I was swept up in the characters' journey when they were alive in 1538 and loved seeing how everything happened back then. And as if the love triangle isn't complicated enough, it gets even worse. Now that Scarlet can "feel" everything that Tristan's feeling, and vice versa, things get heated and people might be shocked at what happens. What I do like about it, is that Scarlet didn't automatically just jump into bed with Tristan (not that she can, since he is essentially killing her) when she discovers an attraction to him in the first book. s hShe doesn't understand this, obviously since her memories have been lost to her. But in most books involving a love triangle, the woman is usually going back and forth between the two men, never deciding, never caring who gets hurt in the way. But not Scarlet. She's levelheaded, careful, and also stubborn. She hates hurting the brothers, and she doesn't give up on them, or her friends. She's still trying to find her identity, and if you're like me, you're really hoping her memories will come back to her soon! Wow! What an ending! I actually saw it coming, not what was going to happen, but who Raven was. But I didn't expect what happened to some of the characters. But it was a fantastic ending nonetheless, and now I'm totally going to buy the third book and finish reading it very quickly! I loved Awry more than Anew, if that's even possible. I loved the flashbacks, the story-line, the characters. It kept pulling me, and I could not put it down until I was finished!

I am literally going to die right now...this book was amazing, spectacular, interesting, funny, heart breaking, beautiful, touching and basically any other word which represents just how good it is. I love you Chelsea!!! Once again, you haven't let us down and lets be honest, the bars were raised pretty high this time round. I absolutely loved everything about this book so much...that I can't even put it into words! Firstly, that cover...I LOVE IT....why is it all the books I love have guys with green eyes? The girl is sooooo pretty and just how I imagined Scarlet as. So, now that i'm back on track, let me just say that I am so glad Scarlet was born into the same life again or else I would have been heart broken and would have to face Gabriel going all hot with her again (NOT COOL). Luckily, Scarlet comes back with all her memories she had discovered in Anew BUT there's just one problem...she forgot the most important part... WHERE THE STUPID FOUNTAIN IS!!!*Smacks face*Now it's going to take so much longer for the curse to be broken and I desperately need Tristan and Scarlet to be together without killing each other by touching. I also realised how much I hate Gabriel now, HOW DARE He? Stop acting like she's your's, dude, cause she isn't! I get the fact that you were only listening to Tristan on the whole taking care of her but you can't keep using her cause your only allowed to love her thanks (to the curse). I'm sorry but I hate to break it to ya, I don't like you anymore and think you should go with Heather. Now Tristan on the other hand, i'm soooooooooooo sorry for you....if only you and Scarlet could be together and my heart could finally rest in peace. I love how Chelsea has written flashbacks which show what actually happened in Scarlet's first life and how Tristan was so much nicer and, boy, was he crazy for her. (heheheh - now I know what the big deal over the tatoo was *winks*). So to end this book, we are (once again), given a cliffhanger (AHHHH!!! YOUR KILLING ME HERE!!!!!). The upside? Scarlet just gains all her memory back and remembers Tristan for who he truly is. *Cries*

I must say first off that I was blown away by this book. I felt like I was reading two stories with the flashbacks to Scarlet's first life. This book picks up right where the first one left off. Right after Scarlet gets shot by the arrow! It is a crazy roller coaster ride from that point on. The book was so well written with the transitions between the regular chapters and the past. They revealed just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat and dying to keep reading! I will say that after this one I am completely Team Tristan!! His love for Scarlet transcends time! Obviously haha! It was so nice to see their back story to see how they met and how Scarlet ended up engaged to Gabriel. I want for them to be together so bad! A lot of new information is revealed in this book and I hate to say it but, they kind of have a long road ahead of them it seems. But, I hope for the best! So the one thing that I kind of need to know is what happens!!! The book ended and I was like O_O NOO!!! That can't be the ending!!!! I guess I have nothing to do but wait for book 3 to come out. Which hopefully is sooner rather then later.

This book would have me at the edge of my seat if i wasnt lying down when i read it! It was sad watching the book end but i loved the ending...."Scarlet gave him a mischeivous smile. I remember EVERYTHING." That was an amazing way to end the book. Team Tristen!
