When Douglass the dragon gets angry because he isn’t allowed to attend school, he casts a spell on the world. The spell ensures people will forget the sounds, faces, and names of the alphabet, and he hides each letter in strange places. Douglass renders the alphabet useless. But Azee, a young boy with magical powers, sets out to retrieve the hidden letters and restore the alphabet. He finds “a” under an ape. “D” is dancing among the dirty leaves. “P” is splattered on a peaceful penguin. Although the dragon attempts to thwart Azee’s mission, the little boy pushes on until he locates all of the letters. This picture book for children follows Azee as he saves the day and teaches about the wonderful signs and sounds of the alphabet.
