About the Author

Stacy Sims is a mind/body educator and author, who travels internationally to work with trauma survivors and has created in-school, after-school and other curriculum and leadership trainings. This year, she founded City Silence, an international network of mindfulness gatherings. Sharareh Khosravani is a prize-winning artist, graphic designer, and illustrator of books published in Iran, Korea, Germany, France, and the United States.

Each double-page spread features adults and children of similar hair and skin color playing together and enjoying one another. All the families in this book—whether their skin is dark brown, light brown, or white and whether their hair is straight or curly, red, brown, or black—are having fun together. Each baby is shown with both mom and dad or only with mom or only with dad; same-sex parents and mixed-race couples are noticeably absent. Many of the colorful illustrations feature families outdoors, at the beach, in the park, or in the woods. The kids and adults have warm, tender expressions and are engaged in playful and loving activities.
