Parents learn to motivate their teens to fulfill their responsibilities by moving away from consequences and implementing a daily incentive structure. Parents also learn how to eliminate behaviors by becoming needs driven in understanding the function of behaviors and develop interventions that work. Lastly Parents learn to structure quality time with their teens to foster connection and provide opportunity to connect and celebrate achievements while at the same time reducing technology dependency.

About the Author
After graduating with my BA I began working at a group home for emotionally disturbed adolescent foster kids. I quickly became one of the best at changing behavior and connecting with kids emotionally. 3 years later I graduate with a masters in clinical psychology and began doing in home therapy with teens who where violent, aggressive, and defiant and in risk of being removed from their family home. After a year I was selected to lead a program that aimed to change the way foster kids where received into the system. The program served the county's hardest to reach kids. I was able to stabilize the most behaviorally challenged kids in 60 days and set them on a path to success. I went on from there to direct an academic residential program that took kids form challenging home lives and motivated them to perform well academically to achieve scholarships to private high schools and major colleges and universities. From there I began managing a program for teens and families that where international refugees from war torn areas of the world. In that program I was able to integrate differing cultures into american society while still maintaining their own cultural identities. After that I went on to Manage a program in conjunction with the state of califonia to change the way mental health services and residential treatment services where delivered to teens and their families. This eventually led to me launching my own private practice servicing teens and families. I have written all of my experience, training, and personal approach into the back to basics program. This is what I have used over the past 14 years of my career to change the lives of some of the most challenging teens and bring hope and stability back to their family.
