This book is a very good guide to backpacking trails and campsite in Michigan. It includes descriptions, maps, and reviews for all of the County, State, & National parks in Michigan at the time it was written. The information provided is very useful for the selection and planning for your next trip. This includes recommendations for fitness level and the appropriate age of hikers considering the trails. The only drawback is that it has not been updated since 1989. Since that time several new trails have been under development or completed. The book is good enough that I am buying a second copy (I lost the first one I bought) to help plan my summer backpacking trips with my kids.
