Official Petitions
Have a school or community official encourage students to participate in the election by signing up as candidates for specific positions.
Campaign Speeches
Whether you are running for class president or student council member, it is always a great idea to hold an assembly where all of the candidates talk about their platform and ideas. They should discuss issues that might have an effect on the student experience.
Election Ballot
Have everyone who is interested in the election cast their vote individually and privately. Create a box with a small slit for the ballots. The ballots could look like this:

Tallying Ballots
Once the voting has closed, assign a group of students to count all of the votes. Use a chalkboard, a white board, or even a computer chart to make sure every vote is counted, and every voice is heard. Once all of the votes have been counted, you can announce the winner!
