"A masterpiece! Tristan and Danika have a story told so realistically by R.K. Lilley, you'll ache for them in BAD THINGS, and have a hard time remembering this is a novel. A very well written novel at that. Off the charts sexy, soul-baring emotion, and explosive chemistry between the two mix together here into pure literary gold. BAD THINGS is a beautiful thing!"

~Raine Miller
NYT's Bestselling Author of The Blackstone Affair

Danika hasn't had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.
One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?
For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air series.

~Reviewed by ANN & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog I discovered R.K. Lilley because of her In Flight series. After gaining glimpses of Tristan and Danika from that series ,I was eager to see how their story would unfold in their own books. Danika felt a little different to me in this novel than how I remembered her in the In Flight series. She still has that smart mouth and speaks her mind, but she also seemed a little more shy. I wonder if that’s because Tristan’s personality is more bigger and a little more dominant. One thing is for sure though. They are a great match! The beginning of BAD THINGS starts off a little slow for me, focusing on being cute. But then that soon changes gears and it begins to heat up. A lot. Lilley doesn’t shy away from the sexy parts. In fact, I think she likes pushing reader’s buttons and seeing how far they are willing to go through her characters. I didn’t think it was possible to make me love another hero as much as James Cavendish, but Lilley is convincing me that maybe she can. While I don’t think BAD THINGS really hooked me completely, there is an ember there that can flare into a dangerous fire in the second book of the series. This gets me excited because I LOVED Mile High, the second book of the In Flight series so if Lilley plays her cards right, she’ll have me in a bind, completely at her mercy.

3.5 Stars. This story started out great then took a turn all over the place. I felt too many distractions and different sub-stories started happening and kinda left you hanging..all over the place. Tristan and Danika's story became jumbled, she was the weak one then he turned weak...both had deep seated issues.. LOVETOREAD

Just from the title I knew this story of Danica & Tristan would be dark & intense. I just didn't expect it to be so horrible! The author is skilled in powerfully pulling the reader into the emotions & angst of her characters. At the opening of this story, I loved Danica's smart, wisecracking, sassy attitude. But once she fell for Tristan, the author turned this wonderful young woman into a spineless character, who forgave Tristan's many nauseating betrayals over & over again! Yes, he is a sexually charismatic rocker, but please, he's weak & a liar. True, he's had a rotten childhood, a bad previous love experience, but Danica had a truly horrific childhood, one that quite a few have committed suicide over. Yet, she has managed to become a compassionate human being who stiil believes in love & loyalty. I kept on hoping that Danica would get over him & end up with James Cavendish!

Lots of drama but so worth it

This series is full of heartwarming and heartbreaking turns. You will be surprised at every turn, but its worth it! I am addidicted to all dirty love stories but this book takes the cake! My favorite by far! I have read it twice in two months and I will probably read it again! Highly recommend! The only problem was this nook version will glitch and miss pages so you have to go back to retrace your steps. Other than that, enjoy this disaster of a love story!

WOW! I think I waited so long to read this because I couldn't imagine liking anybody more than James & Bianca...but I was WRONG! I love Tristan (with his dirty mouth) & Danika (with her sassy mouth) as characters & their banter is hysterical. I'm a sucker for friends turned more stories. I like watching their friendship grow & that it's not all funny business from the very beginning. I am also dying to find out about Danika's leg! I've been told that I'll love Bad things, have my heart ripped out by Rockbottom & have it put together again with Lovely Trigger. I can't wait to finish their story which is the first in a long time that I can't stop thinking about after I move on to another book. -...."I'll never forget that for as long as I live; they way you were my strength, when I was too weak to even stand."

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I absolutely loved this series! Tristan and Danika's story was so gut wrenching and so wonderful. I read the author's Up in the Air series first and while I thoroughly enjoyed that series, I became much more emotionally invested with Tristan and Danika. Their story incorporates most of the same characters from the Up in the Air series and takes place over about six years. They go though just about every tragedy possible but eventually make it through to the other side...barely. I loved how you could practically feel the characters change and develop over the years. I am not a crier but I did shed some tears for these two. This is definitely a re-read for me! Great, angsty, emotional story with amazing sexy scenes.

Do you ever have that moment of nervousness when you’re about to read a new trilogy from an author that already wrote a trilogy you absolutely adored? I do … and often. I’m constantly worried that the new trilogy could never possibly be as good as the first one I’d read by that author. In this case, I fell in love with RK Lilley’s trilogy Up in Flight. It’s one of the best trilogies I’ve read since my beloved 50 Shades of Grey. Top five for sure. Well, the author has a bit of a universe in the Up in Flight series. With that trilogy you meet supporting characters Danika and Tristan. To be honest, I didn’t think they were that interesting in the Up in Flight series because they didn’t have a lot of face time, so I didn’t rush out to buy the first book “Bad Things” that was the start of their tale. BIG MISTAKE. This novel goes back to when Tristan and Danika first met. A good six to seven years prior to where they are in their relationship in the Up in Flight series. So I knew going in that at some point, Tristan and Danika’s tale was going to go horribly wrong because they weren’t together in the other series. Be that as it may, I firmly decided that I’d read the entire trilogy once the third book was out. In Bad Things, you get a lovely tale of how the hero and heroine fall in love, live their life and battle fledgling careers, loss of loved ones, and the start of success for Tristan. Their love is built off friendship at first and turns into something a whole helluva lot bigger.
