Not being generally a reader of "futuristic" fiction, I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but I was immediately captivated by the characters and became immersed in their world. This is a fantastic read whether your taste is for action/adventure, science fiction, or mystery. The characters are compelling, the descriptions colorful, and the story moves quickly . Just an all-around great read! I am really looking forward to reading the second book in this series, "Jackals" ... More, please!

I just finished Jackals, the follow up to Balance, and had to write a review. I need to point out, Balance is the first book in the series and looks to be the first, self published book by this author. That said, this book and the series so far are far better then most of the published fiction out thier. The Plot of Balance is one of the most original I've read in a long time. The writing style is very fast and efficient, yet extemely engaging. I can say these are some of most interesting and well developed characters I've read, especially considering the second book. The twists in the story are unexpected yet thuroughly developed. The book end in an excellent fashion, yet opens up perfectly for Jackals. I would suggest rereading both Balance, especially after Jackals, since the author put easter eggs throughout both books, and I suspect that will be the case for Alpha, the third book.

Would have enjoyed it more without the stilted dialogue, misspelled words and so many incorrect words it was hard to follow.

Great new take on an old genre. This book was very well written, exciting and fast paced. The protagonists were well fleshed out and likeable. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys these types of reads. A little frightening considering the economic and political climate of today
