Sandomir (alias ``Baldman'') presents what is at once a celebration of baldness and a testimonial to it. Hairless by the age of 20, Sandomir realized the only locks he'd ever have would be the ones he'd get with bagels. As Baldman he sets out to expose a conspiracy among ``haired men'' to deprive the less hirsute of respect. With tongue in cheek, he investigates hair replacement centers, reveals the myth of wonder drug minoxidil, and interviews several notable patron saints of baldness. This is a book one might give as a gag gift to a balding boss who's also a good sport. While it's witty and costs less than a cheap haircut, its subject matter might limit its appeal. Recommended, nonetheless, so as not to be party to the conspiracy.-- Joe Accardi, Triodyne, Inc. Information Ctr., Niles, Ill.
