About the Author
Kate Castle began her career as a dancer with the Royal Ballet. Later she became the education officer for the company, and has worked as a dance consultant and educator for many years. She has written several children's books about ballet, including the Kingfisher favorite The Best Book of Ballet.

This is such a great book! But not completely accurate. Louis XIV started the Academie Royale de Danse in 1661, not 1672. But other than that, this is the best book on ballet I've read!
A great book, some steps, inside on opera house, ect. very educational.
