This is one of Stephen's books where you look at the cover, look at the title and think that perhaps it isn't going to be all that deep a plot-line but as soon as I saw what it was about, I anxiously bought it and had a great time wiping it out in a day or so at the most. Yes, for those of us who live or visit Thailand often enough, you DO get a pretty good idea where the author is going to go with this tale but again, it's Stephen's vast knowledge of Bangkok and the kingdom itself in general that make you happy to turn from page to page, curious as hell to see how Bangkok Bob will solve this one. I've read it many a time and hope that there WILL be more Bangkok Bob novels coming down the soi;-)

Fast moving mystery with a quirky plot. Amusing main character. Quick read. Not suitable for children. Would definitely read more books by this author.
