Barbarian Prince: A Qurilixen World Novel (Dragon Lords Anniversary Edition) by Michelle M. Pillow

A Qurilixen World Novel
Paranormal Dragon-shifting Romance
Revised Expanded Anniversary Edition

Breaking up was never so hard…

Going undercover at a mass wedding as a bartered bride, Morrigan Blake has every intention of getting off the barbaric planet just as soon as it’s over. Or, more correctly, just as soon as she captures footage of the mysterious princes rumored to be in attendance.

But after a euphoric night, Morrigan discovers her ride left without her, and Ualan of Draig is claiming she’s his wife. It’s not exactly the story this reporter had in mind. And to make matters worse, the all-to-seductive alpha refuses to take no for an answer.

Being cursed by the gods was never so frustrating…

Prince Ualan is prepared to follow dragon-shifter tradition and marry the woman revealed to him during the Breeding Festival. When the stubborn, yet achingly sexy, Morrigan refuses to accept their shared fate and his supreme authority over her, it is all he can do to keep from acting like the barbarian she accuses him of being.

About the Series

The dragon-shifting princes have no problem with commitment. In one night, they will meet and choose their life mate in a simplistic ceremony involving the removing of masks and the crushing of crystals. With very few words spoken and the shortest, most bizarre courtship in history, they will bond to their women forever. And once bonded, these men don’t let go… Too bad nobody explained this to their brides.

Michelle loves to travel and try new things, whether it's a paranormal investigation of an old Vaudeville Theatre or climbing Mayan temples in Belize. I don't mind a little sex in a story if there was a story worth reading, but this book is nothing but blatant sex. The story line was typical, but didn't have enough substance to make it a good book. Shame too. If the author would have taken the time to expand the actual story line, it would have been worth reading.

So it was not a terrible read... I just couldn't get into it very well. The emotions for me but kind of skimmed the surface throughout. Not really pausing to get the bigger feeling from it. There were several areas I wish there were more details in, and others that could of used less. Over all not a total waste

This was pretty good, I liked them together the others were good I want to read the rest but I will have to wait as they are sold in bundles. I prefer these sci fantasies to some of the tradtional romances as they are so predictable.

I read a lot and one of my favorite type of story is about shifters. It was a "nice" story. It has potential for being even better. The story was a typical "cat an mouse" theme. I felt the author over used the comments of "I'm not your wife and I want to go back home!" There was no real action until you read at least what seemed to me 90 percent of the story and I felt the intimate descriptions came off too vulgar! The upside of this is that it was free, thank goodness!

A shape-shifting romance on a planet no one truly has knowledge of - its people, geography, or customs. What did the main character get herself into? A great stand alone read. I am going to buy the next one!
