This book was just okay. In other words, I could have lived my whole life without reading it and been okay. Not saying this it was a bad book but it wasn't all the great either. I don't understand why people are saying that it's so heartbreaking, cause it's not. I only gave it 4 stars because of all that and this... Peter Pan is not a great or bad character; meaning I didn't love him nor did I hate him. He was just a little boy that I found fun and always up for adventures but I also thought he was knida annoying at the same time. In the way that he couldn't remember anything i.e. his past adventures, the childrens names, etc. Also I kinda disliked how he would always say "Oh, the cleverness of me!" even though he wasn't the one to do anything. Wendy for her part was an okay person, I hated that it was her job to do everything for them, tuck them in, clean and fix their clothes. I've always kinda disliked TinkerBell so it's no surpirse I didn't like her here either, she was a rude little thing weather she was in love with Peter or not. The Lost Boys were okay too, as well as John and Michael. I had no problems with them. Hook and the pirates were a fun bunch cause they are the kinda pirates I like, very much like the bad guys in Pirates of the Caribbean movies. That's how I picture pirates when reading about them, lots of tattoos, dirty, evil, scary names etc. They added a lot to the story for me, if it wasn't for the whole Hook vs Peter thing I would have stopped reading about halfway through. Maybe I just have the Disney verison in my head but I liked that alot better then the book, and I never really liked the Disney Peter Pan growing up. I don't know maybe I'm just not one for books about Kids who don't care about anyone but themself. Though i know that a lot of kids are like that but not all. Not a book I will be reading again but it's a nice Edition to add to the many others like it that I got the day I got this book.

The book is durable and attractively made. The book looked the same when I finished reading it as it had when I first purchased it. The story itself is powerful and frightening and wonderful--from crude Tinker Bell to immature Peter to responsible, longing Wendy. The tale is definitely one for readers of all ages. I had no issues with the condition of the book itself or the bookmark, which is still intact with no signs of coming loose. The color is a bit more on the green side, though, than what is shown in the picture. I like the actual cover color better.

This is one of many Leatherbound Classics that I have purchased and it like the others does not disappoint. Beautiful leather cover makes this classic tale even more appealing.
