Ok, Tom sholz version of boston can't hold a candel to this cd.the boston of old is gone. However the music that barry and brad have been doing is steller. This album from 1980,picks up right where "Don't Look Back" left off.As Far as I'm concerned "third stage" was weak. Most of that album was the same music all the way through, just re-aranged.The musianship on barrys cd is fantastic .the song writting is superb. I myself can do with out another bad "Boston" album .But I will continue to pick up the albums by barry and co. Todd Smith -Rochester ,NY.

First of all - it's Barry Goudreau, not Gary. It's right on the cover of the LP, for Pete's sake! This is the best Boston LP that Boston never made. Barry has stated that he offered these songs to Tom Scholz, but apparently Scholz looked down his nose at them. Therefore, Barry cranked it out in 6 months time. Definitely more satisfying than waiting 8 years for a Boston LP! It seems that Scholz didn't like the idea of an LP done by 3 of the 5 members of Boston - this LP resulted in Barry getting tossed out of Boston by Scholz! Once you hear this LP, you will understand why Scholz went ballistic - it's fantastic! Of course, the world was now aware of the fact that Barry was a big part of the Boston sound. This is why Scholz demanded that the record company drop all support and promotion for the LP, which helped to kill it's success. It's Boston without all of the studio glitz and wizardry. Moreover, it actually sounds the same when performed "live". How about that?

What a great album!!! It has that unmistakable Boston sound from the 70-s - no wonder, 3 of the original members joined Gary for what could have been a sequel to the 1978 "Don't Look Back". Gary's flawless and virtuoso guitar musicianship, Brad's powerful and clean vocals and Sib's precise drumming are a powerful combo to contend with! Too bad Tom couldn't join them! Highly, highly recommend it! Enjoy! What would be truly great is to see them live in concert. Hope Gary reads this.
