I received this as a "Secret Santa" present (from my daughter) because I let it drop how much I loved this book. I have read it before and loved it then as well. A Connecticut housewife finally owns the house of her dreams. The only thing that bothers her is a presence in the basement. She does some research on the house and discovers that a witch was buried on the land 200 years ago. She becomes convinced that the vengeful spirit is tormenting her.I really loved this book and give it an A+! It was as good at the beginning as it is at the end. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes horror.

Contrary to what the other review says. I think this book was a good read. True it's about snotty rich people but, it has a bit of suspence in it. What everyone think is a spirit in the basement is really the womans ability to say thing which come true. I'm not sure if this it the proper name for it but she has Mental Telepathy. They all really thought it was spirits in the Basement. When all along it was the lady of the house. She was also surprised when she realized it could be her doing these unspeakable killings/murders. I like the book even though it had a dumb ending. If you like suspence I would recommend this book.

I got this book thinking it would be a great read, however I was totally wrong! It has to do with a bunch of snotty rich people that get hooked up in the 'real world' and one lame moronic character seems to have a ghost in her basement. But that is all. Nothing much to keep your interest in. It took me almost 2 months to read this lame book, even then, I just put it down when I had 2 chapters to go and never finished it. I highly do not recommend this book if you want a great horror book. I recommend Graham Masterton for great gore and horror to the extreme!!
