This book held me captivated. The author did such a good job of feeding us just enough information that piqued my interest. I just couldn't read fast enough to learn all the little pieces she dangled in front of me to get to the full story. Even in the beginning when Holly is describing her day, it never felt like mindless detail. I was genuinely interested in how she felt and what she saw. I love when an author can capture my attention like that. I've read other books by Noelle Adams and this wasn't like those I've read. I like when an author can deviate from their usual and still bring a good story. What a great read! ARC provided by NetGalley.

I was given this ARC by NetGalley for an honest review. I can honestly say that I loved it and I was hooked from the very beginning. Just trying to figure out Holly's story and then trying to find out what really happened to her mother just hooks you right in and makes you not want to put the book down. As the truth starts to unravel you can't help but feel sorry for Holly and at the same time admire her for her bravery. I am just happy that throughout her self discovery Holly had Cade to help her and give her the extra confidence boost she needed to be the person she was meant to be. At the same time Holly was able to teach Cade how to step back, relax and enjoy lives simple little things. A must read.

As always Noelle Adams is trying to reach a new voice in romance and this book is a good example. Holly is a reclusive living at Chesapeake Bay with a dark past and a great difficulty in connecting. Cade is a real crime writer and looking for a new break. These souls are somewhat connected but their path to romance is difficult because of their past and complicated lives. Bay Song has a different POV of a reclusive character and a lot of romance. I recommend

Bay Song digs deeper into the human psyche and creates a tale of morality, redemption and a haunting journey of hope and healing. As thought provoking as it is emotionally draining, I never lost hope in the central characters. Holly started out as a curiosity. Her existence is one of mystery, but pain permeates off her in droves. Cade has never met a puzzle he can't solve, but Holly may be the one mystery that he wishes he hasn't. Holly's story is one of strength and courage that inspires every sense that makes us human.
