Six Tips for Planning a Mercenary Invasion of a Tropical Island.
Tip 1. Don't hire Foreign Mercenaries without checking their credentials; they might have overstated their experience.
Tip 2. They could also be right-wing Klansmen and Nazis, which might not go over too well if your coup is supposed to install a leftist regime called the black revolutionary council.
Tip 3. Make sure the captain of the ship hired to transport your mercenaries and their weapons isn't a federal informant.
Tip 4. If you catch on of the ship's crew wearing a mini tape recorder under his t-shirt, you might want to ask whether your operation has been infiltrated.
Tip 5. Advertising an invasion in advance by giving interviews to a radio news reporter is not recommended.
Tip 6. Above all, if you're going to overthrow a third world regime, make sure it isn't on friendly terms with the United States Government.
Making these mistakes could leave you with a lot of time on your hands to think about how you could have been so stupid. Just ask the squad of heavily armed American and Canadian mercenaries who got together in New Orleans in 1981 to stage the Caribbean coup that became known as the Bayou of Pigs invasion. I did. This is what I found out.

Wow, what a can't put down book!!! It has everything-characters that make you say "Is he for real?" The plan they come up with to take on and over throw a government makes your head explode. I literally could not put this down. I didn't want to stop to eat and I love to eat. I didn't take care of my house nor did I connect with friends until I finished. And when I was finished I was depressed that it was over. The 'brains' and originator of this scheme thought of himself as a mercenary and was full of tall tales to tell his cohorts about. How he even lived to tell this story I will never understand. He asked some very shady guys to join in on his adventure. He is at times a genius and at others a fool. What do the KKK, the Nazis and a group of thugs and a third world country and the United States of America have to do with this story? Please read this book to find the answer.I can guarantee you a wild ride filled with adventure and excitement that will stay with you for a very long time and you will want to pass it on to your friends. After I finished I gave it to my husband to read and he was just as thrilled by it as I was. This story was funny and sad at the same time.
