Disclaimer: i received an earc a voluntary reviewed this book. After reading and loving book 1 i couldn't wait to have more of the series as it has romance, action and the bayou setting so when i discovered that this one has werewolves too couldn't resist any longer. i don't regret it even if Tallulah was my least favourite character...i mean she suffered a lot i get it but it made her so bitter and so cold that it was hard to warm to her even if she got better. Now, discovering who her mate is we understand a bit more i think^^. Tallulah is still hurt from the past events but she doesn't stop trying to do her hunter job as best as she can if no better. During one of her nightly hunts ,she encounters a wolf with unnatural behaviour but manage to make it leave. Since wolves are not native from the area it makes her suspicious. However no matter the nightly events, during the day she is still the stubborn woman she is and discovering that a crew is cutting wood on the tribe land puts her in combative mode so she doesn't hesitate to confront the workers among whom Payton reacts to her. Payton is loyal; perhaps even too much he had a difficult upbringing and because of that he feels in debt to his pack..his job doesn't make him happy but it's good for the pack so he does it. All is about the pack until he comes across Tallulah who fast become Lulu for him. He is intrigued, wants to discover more about her - is ordered to by his alpha ( and worse)- but there is more. He doesn't want to do it for his pack but wants to protect her even more after finding her hurt. So suddenly he is stuck between two universe not sure what his place should be. I loved how honest he was with her ( i did want to shake him a few time as well so it was good that " Lulu" didn't keep her tong in check.) The story was well written even without reading book 2 nothing seeming off, we got the info needed so this works well as standalone ( even if i recommend to read the others). the investigation was well done with the touch of romance and action well balanced. I was really happy with this book, read in one sitting. the pace was constant, i saw Annie like i wanted so i definitively recommend this if you want a romance with paranormal elements set in the bayou.

Action, Adventure and Love what more do you need. This one takes you through the entire range on human emotion. Looking forward to more from this author.

Native American Spirit Hunter meets Shapeshifter. Tallulah Silver had to make her way in the male world of the shadow hunter, experiencing devastating loss and betrayal along the way. Her prickly defenses and her direct manner puts off those around her, leading her to a lonely life filled only with memories and regrets. Payton Rodgers, a werewolf without a family, is indebted to the alpha wolf and the leader who took him in when all other wolf packs shunned him. The transient wolf pack moves to Alabama to escape suspicion when a rogue wolf in Montana murders multiple humans. Suspicion follows the groups when another human is found murdered near their Alabama home. Tallulah’s shadow hunter abilities means she sees, hears, and smells things most normal humans can’t, and her suspicions about the new group increase as she tracks an agressive wolf back to their rented farmhouse. Payton, intrigued and attracted by Tallulah, agrees to stick close to her to report any suspicions Talllulah has developed about the new group of men. Rather than being put off by Tallulah’s ill-tempered exterior, Payton is intrigued and drawn to the challenge she presents. Until the dangerous rogue wolf, hidden within Payton’s pack, emerges to threaten both their lives. This final book in the Bayou Shadow Hunter series is well worth the time spent reading it. Once I started reading it, I had to keep turning those pages until I had finished the story in two days! If you like paranormal romance paired with action, adventure, and strong characters, you’ll want to add this book to your collection. Don’t pass up Tallulah and Payton’s fabulous story.

This is a great series! Tallulah when she lost her Bo felt she'd never love again. Payton was taken in by his pack when he was young and feels he owes them. When his pack arrives and starts work clearing land they meet. As they get to know each other Tallulah realizes that she's starting to feel again but a wolf's attacked her and killed a neighbor. Can Payton and Tallulah trust each other with their secrets and their hearts? What a great story with such a strong couple. Both know what they want, or what they thought they wanted, but when they meet realize that what they want isn't what they need. I enjoyed watching the 2 grow from singular characters who think they only need the life they have to a couple that realize that's it's okay to love to want something different then they thought. The story is about them but the other Shadow Hunters are there and very important to parts of the story. If you haven't read the other stories you can still enjoy this book but I recommend reading the others as they're awesome also.
