He'll do whatever it takes to forget the past and the woman who betrayed him.
What will he do when learning an assumed truth was a lie?

Bay's Desire, Book Nine, MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series

Bayard Donahue lives to forget the past. The woman he loves, could never get enough of, and married, betrayed him in the worst way. The physical scars from that night don't compare to the memories he can't forget.

Suzette Gasnier shouldn't still love Bay. He abandoned her, shoving her aside without caring about the truth. Desperate to forget the man she refuses to divorce, Suzette accepts a job managing a new restaurant and hotel in Conviction, a town days away from her home in St. Louis. It's the opportunity she's dreamed of, until learning Bay is one of her bosses.

No longer interested in continuing his career as a hired gun, Bay spends his days practicing law. At night, he escorts beautiful women into the restaurant where Suzette works, making certain to flaunt them before her. He only needs her to sign the divorce decree, then he can finally put the past behind him.
At least that's what Bay thinks until learning what he thought happened in St. Louis might be far different than what he believes. And discovering someone is out to kill him.
Bay's Desire, book nine in the MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series, is a stand-alone, full-length novel with an HEA and no cliffhanger.

This was a great, action-packed book! There were never any dull moments. I loved that aspects of this historical fiction novel are applicable today. We should never rush to judgment or assume things about people. That's what created all the problems between the two main characters. Thankfully, they were finally able to see their mistakes and work toward repairing the wrongs. But was it too late before the killer makes his move? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Shirleen Davies has done it again! Her books just keep getting better and better! This one grabs you right away, the suspense and mystery in this action packed love story is awesome! Bay is an ex gunfighter now an attorney in the same town where Suzette runs a finer dining restaurant that he owns in partnership with his fellow law partner. Suzette and Bay are married, but he feels like she has betrayed him. He never allowed her to tell him what really went on, he just took off and then suddenly she is working in his restaurant! He decides to punish her by flaunting beautiful women in front of her and demanding that she take care of their table. Bay suddenly starts getting sick and seems to be getting sicker by the day when he realizes that he is being poisoned in his whiskey! That is what helps trigger Bay and Suzette getting closer to each other again. I do not like people telling me the outcome of a story instead of letting me read it! This one is full of so much for the reader from the crooks that want to bring Bay down slowly, to Suzette being afraid to ever trust him again. The characters in this story are wonderful and strong people in spite of not letting anyone see how they truly feel in the privacy of their own homes. This one is a stand alone story, but it has left me chomping for the next one because there is a cliffhanger situation at the end!
