Overview

Readers of Be Still and Listen can learn how to recreate their lives to those of positive thinking because of Merrill Jobe's account of how she always dealt with her life's queries. Always meant to make a decision, she felt led by her guardian angel when she was a child, and when getting older, she thought that her decisions were guided by her "gut feelings." Whatever the cause, she always understood that she was led to make decisions, and most friends were amazed at her good luck with a wonderful lifetime.

Merrill always knew that she had a great and happy life, because her decisions always worked out for her. She was almost always a civil volunteer, teaching Sunday school classes, being a Girl Scout leader in two states, and a hospital volunteer in two other states. As people heard her tell some stories about her experiences, they often told her she should write her tales, and they were always amazed at how lucky she was with so many positive happenings in her life. Some people learned from her to stop being negative with their thoughts, and that helped them to enjoy their lives more.

Having studied travel while growing up, Merrill was fascinated with different countries in the world; so she was fortunate when she finally talked her husband into travel to Mexico with the family. He had such a good time; he then demanded more foreign travel, so the two of them finally spent many trips to Europe and on cruises, having good times together.

Being a dedicated teacher, Merrill finally wrote this book of her personal stories, to encourage the readers to relax and follow their hearts. She noticed that some people rant and rave throughout their lives, upset about their problems and experiences. She never has done that, but just allowed her heart to make decisions all the time, so got good results by listening to her heart. She also has added the last section, titled I Yam What I Yam, having written that part several years ago, as she considered what childhood experiences gave her such self-confidence. She also discusses her dedication to her family and friends, with sentimental tributes and eulogies, hoping that the readers can also appreciate some of their past experiences.
