Wounded and suffering from PTSD, the beast, Miles Stratton comes home to find his architectural firm in shambles seemingly destroyed by his best friend, Stephen, who is missing. When everyone appears to be against Miles, a new employee, Aimee is caught after hours trying to crack the computer system. He recognizes her as Stephen’s daughter, and she struggles to make Miles believe she’s not trying to do further damage to his company. He and Aimee, along with the chief of security, Ian, go to her home to recover the clues left by her father when a more sinister plot unravels their plans. Fast paced and interesting the twist and turns of the plot make this a fast read. The characters are well developed and the story unfolds into one of heartfelt reclamation from the real beast that holds the main character.

Renee spins a fairy tale story, based on Beauty and the Beast. And while the familiarity is there, the twists and turns are all new! Aimee goes deep undercover to find her father and encounters a real live, Beast.  And although Miles seems rough around the edges, his emotional scars make it hard to not fall in love with him. Don't miss this one! The suspense will keep up till the book is done!

Beast of Stratton by Renee Blare is an interesting, easy read. Stratton Industrial has an enemy, conspiring against their company. In order to stop this enemy from acquiring their secrets, the main research employee, Stephen Hart, disappears. He expected owner, Miles Stratton, his best friend, to return from service to help discover who was trying to ruin them. Yet, Miles was delayed due to injuries and recuperation needed afterwards. Stephen’s daughter, Aimee, begins her own investigation into her father’s disappearance. Her only clue is a vague note left for her. She hires on at Stratton’s and starts snooping around. By that time Stratton’s owner has returned and suddenly nothing is as it seems, and her father’s disappearance is more complicated than she realized. Furthermore, her attraction to the Beast of Stratton adds more confusion to her life. Together, they work to uncover the plot against Stratton Industrial and Miles Stratton. I enjoyed this suspenseful story and recommend it, if one likes a light, easy mystery. I received this book through TBCN in exchange for an honest review.

The Beast of Stratton by Renee Blare is a story about CEO Miles Stratton working to find the traitor of his company, Stratton Industrial. Miles discovers his best friend, Stephen Hart, has left Stratton Industrial and gone to work for the competition. When Stephen left, he took his team of employees and some design plans with him. He has now disappeared. Stephen’s daughter, Aimee, begins work as a secretary at Stratton Industrial, hoping to find her father and the truth of the betrayal. Miles is also dealing with PTSD from a helicopter crash in Iraq that only he survived. I really wanted to like this book. Many aspects of the book appealed to me: the mystery and suspense involved in tracking down a suspected traitor, a war hero finding love upon his return home, a daughter desperately determined to clear her father’s name. The first part of the book was interesting and built suspense about the betrayal. However, after reading several more pages, I became more confused about what was happening. As I continued to read, I found myself flipping back pages, wondering if I had accidentally advanced more than one page in my ereader. I re-read passages, hoping I would get a better understanding of what was happening. While this helped to a certain degree, the book just did not flow well, in my opinion. I struggled to follow the storyline. The story had great potential, but it could use some smoothing out and some clarification. I received a copy of this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.

The hero of this story was human. I could relate to his struggles even if I did not experience PTSD as a soldier. How can a soldier return home and act “normal” after living in a hyper alert state for a long time? Miles Stratton returned home with more than the physical scars of war. He is known as the Beast of Stratton, also the name of his company. Amber Hart/Aimee Pryce is the daughter of the man people believed betrayed Miles and the company by selling company secrets and working for the competitor. She goes undercover in Stratton to find out what happened to her father. She does not believe that her father would betray Miles or the company. I enjoyed this book. I am very glad that Renee dealt with Miles PTSD. She did not make it seems that it was an easy things to deal with. You knew that this was going to be an issue that would take time and Miles would need someone that understood it. The relationship between Miles and Aimee slowly developed. They are both struggling with understanding the role God wants them to play. This story reminds me that sometimes God does not speak in a shout but a whisper. He is always there for us. He is there in the battle that he allows in our life. He is in control and that we must be patient. I received this book for free from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review. I also posted this review on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Goodreads, Deepershopper, etc.)”

The thing I appreciated the most about this book was the light it shined on post traumatic stress disorder. In the story, Miles is a war hero who struggles with PTSD. As the book progresses, the reader can see not only his struggle, but also his journey back to wholeness. If this book were to be boiled down into one word, that word would be hope.

Beast of Stratton by Renew Blare  Miles runs a multi million dollar company, but he has put up walls all around himself to protect him and to protect others from his demons. Aimee is determined to accomplish her mission. She must wear a mask in order to do so. Nothing will stand in her way, not even the gruff grungy. Beast of Stratton.  Things seem to keep throwing the two together. Will they be able to break down the walls and remove the masks? Will the truth set them free?  Renee does a great entertaining job of weaving this tale together to give you the answers to these questions and more.  This was my first book by Mrs Blare and I look forward to the next. I give this an entertaining 5 stars.

Beast of Stratton***** e-book by Renee Blare Architect Aimee Hart's father has disappeared, but he did leave a clue—a letter and a rose—can Aimee figure out what he is telling her? She is determined to find him...at any cost. Posing as a secretary at the engineering firm where her father once worked, Stratton Industrial, she plans to do some undercover investigating. Miles Stratton is suffering from PTSD from his tours in Iraq, a wounded and shaggy man who hides out in his penthouse. On top of that he feels his best friend has betrayed him and his company. Something is wrong, someone is trying to destroy Stratton Industrial, but who and why? Now his best friend's daughter is working for his firm. Is she part of the trouble or is she here for other reasons? He can't find the answers locked up in his penthouse, so he leaves determined to learn the truth. This is a story that is filled with suspense, intrigue, drama, danger, secrets, betrayal, forgiveness, healing, romance, faith and love. I enjoyed watching the interaction between Aimee and Miles as they figured out who was the enemy and who could be trusted. Their interest in each other continued to grow even thorough their investigation. There are some surprising events and details they uncover that are heartbreaking and some that are joyful. The secondary characters bring much to the story. I found myself going back and forth trying to figure out who the betrayer was. I enjoyed the story very much. ~~I received an e-book copy from TBCN for my honest review~~

Beast of Stratton is a very easy, fun, quick read. It has a bit of romance and some mystery. Will whoever is trying to infiltrate Stratton Industrial succeed or will Aimee, Miles and Ian be able to uncover what is really going on in time? Will Aimee be able to locate her father? Is her father betraying his loyalty to Stratton Industrial and what about the sparks between Aimee and Miles? I will not share the answers to these questions as I do not want to give away the book. Pick up a copy of this book and enjoy. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book.  It was pulled into the lives of the characters and the story line from the pages and the fast paced story line kept me reading to see what was going to happen next.  It is a wonderful combination of romance, faith and mystery and one I wholeheartedly recommend.  I definitely hope there will be more to follow from this author.

Since this is a 145-page novella, the reader is plunged immediately into the action and must learn the backstory as the narrative unfolds. Cryptic remarks and interactions between characters that suggest secrets and hidden agendas had me scrambling to try to figure out what was going on, who the good guys and the bad guys were, and how the past was impacting the present. The suspense of the first half builds to a heart-pounding last half as answers and danger begin to roll in. The mysteries of Aimee’s missing father and the betrayal of Stratton Industries are engaging and kept me eagerly reading until all was explained in the end. The characters are intriguing and relatable. The trauma and pain suffered by war veterans is achingly portrayed in Miles’ character—which makes the reader easily empathize with the unseen and undisclosed baggage our real-life vets bring home with them. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Ian and Miles…what a great friendship they shared. As far as Aimee and Miles, the author demonstrates that a clean romance can have lots of sizzle. The author stated: “the most important thing I hope people glean from my work? God will never leave you or forsake you, no matter where you are or what you’ve done. He’s with us always even when we can’t…or don’t want to feel, see or hear him.” She has managed to convey this message wrapped in an absorbing storyline filled with mystery and romance. I received this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for this my honest opinion.
