I had no idea this was just a 13 page book when I purchased it. I read the sample to my daughter and she loved it so I thought it would continue on to be a nice long story we could read together for a while. But then the "whole" book downloaded and it was only 13 pages!?! Wish there was some kind of warning. . . The story itself is nice for little kids and has a an interesting if. . . a little harsh ending. I supposed it is a classic but it wasn't exactly what I was after. :-/

This book is a classic, I decided to read it because I could get it for free on my kindle. I have to say that it was defiantly worth my money, a great story to read for fluff nothing deep, but it has a nice message. The characters are very lovable, if somewhat too perfect in beauty's case, however their personality is described and it doesn't really grow except through examples of the aforementioned personalities. The characters are very classic for a children's story, the good ones are good and the bad ones are bad. Many of the less savory characters get what is coming to them and good prevails in the end. The story is also quite regular, but this is important for the story as it is a fairy tale and the point of this book is to be a fairy tale. The father is coming home from town when he is caught in a storm and chooses to go into a huge castle for refuge, nobody is there it seems, however he is well taken care of somehow. On his way out the next morning he meets the beast who says that he is going to kill him, unless he brings one of his daughters back in the next three months. He says he will, but he doesn't plan to keep the bargain. And that is where I will stop so that I don't spoil this for you. The story mostly deals with one of his daughters being able to love someone for who they are, not by their looks or by their smarts. I would recommend this wonderful and classic story to people of all ages. It was a very short read, but very clear and un-convoluted. I would read it again, and I probably will, even if it is just to my little sisters or, in the future, my children.

This is the perfect Tale for children. The illustrations in this book are magical. Connect with your child as a bedtime story. I find this book will last well into early teens, since the illustrations and story telling in this book are captivating at a young mature level, as well as, for children.
