Keeva Westbrook Stucker has taken a familiar story, and infused it with fresh, multi-layered characterizations, resulting in a very emotionally engaging read. The author's take on The Beast, in particular, is extremely sympathetic, and she successfully avoids the pitfalls of describing a Stockholm Syndrome scenario, or other situation wherein Beauty relinquishes all sense of Self in order to romantically connect with the Beast. The plot is drawn out just enough to create a satisfying romantic arc and "believable" conclusion. Suitable for youth and adult readers.

Keeva Westbrook Stucker's vivid re-telling of Beauty and the Beast makes all other versions of this story seem like cheap imitations. Her rendering informs, entertains, inspires, and invites you to come live in her world; if you're willing, your heart will be changed. Which is just what a fairy tale should do. Read this book immediately. (Dear K.W.S., please please please write re-tellings of the rest of my favorite fairy tales. Start with Toads and Diamonds.) --Carol Marks, The Adventures of Riesling J. Hunnicutt, and You Know Where We Were: poems from a previous life

I have reread this several times since purchasing it on my Nook. I had been searching for a good version of "Beauty and the Beast" (and also a more detailed story of "Cupid and Psyche" from Greek mythology that is more than three pages long) for quite a while. I stumbled upon this gem and have not been disappointed. I especially enjoyed the simplicity of the novel; it expands on the relationship of the main characters and has minimal instances of evil villains. This was an excellent novel. Well done!

Obciously, this is a love story. Everyone knows that. However, writing about the love between a beast and a frightened girl is no easy task. In this book, though, they got it right. Nothing was rushed and the growing friendship--and love--between the Beast and his Beauty felt...natural, somehow. Of course, there are faults with the book, such as awkward phrasing or just a strange word, but other than that, I qould completely reccomend this book to anyone who likes a good, classic fairy tale sone right.

Keeva, my O' friend, you've come into your own and living the dream of your youth, a talent of writing I got to experience first hand. I walked a razor's edge, dance with the devil, and seen the world until my eyes tired, I loved and I lived, for the path I walked where love had no shade. The night sky always bring you to mind, it always brought me to a safe place when times were challenging, I hope others are moved by your writing. May you love, live, and be an inspiration, I never forgot you. Binky

I was a little surprised when I started reading this book. It is so good I couldn't put it down without finishing it. It reminds me a little of Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast by Robin McKinley.

The main characters are beaty. A book merchantes daughter. Beauty also has no mother but might has 3 sisters depending if this is the origal. Beast is an actual beast. He use to be a weathy prince but one day an ugly poor woman came to his door and asked him for selter and some food but when he refuse. The girl changed into a beautiful girl the beast beyed for forgivness but she would not listen. She then turned him into a beast. She also gave him a migic rose when the last pedal falls of he has not fallen in love with a girl than he will remain a beast forever. I hope i ansered most of your questions. By the why beauty and the east is the best book ever.

Before I get this book. I want to know what it's about. I know it's a beauty and the beast retelling but I need details. For example, who are the main characters, how is beast a beast--was he turned into a beast or is he scarred or is he a beast because of his temper. I just need a description of this book. Please.:)
