Overview

Beauty and the Beast by May Sage

“Let me tell you one thing, Beast: if your Prince ever returns, watch his back. There are thousands who would gladly throw daggers at it.”

And Belle would be first in line.

Ten years ago, he was Prince Aiden, heir of Jereena, at the top of the world – now, they call him Beast.

Aiden has landed on his feet, his exclusive club is the place to be, he makes hundreds of thousands a night.

What else could he possibly want?

Belle grew up during the Anarchy, and the corrupted system screwed her, big time, but she managed to get by.

Then, her stupid brother goes and steals from the Beast, who demands her as payment.

Well, her, a pile of cash, or her sister – option two and three aren’t acceptable.

Author provided an interesting, modern(ish) take on the fairy tale but I was sorely disappointed with the poorly executed writing. The editing process seems to have been skipped in an effort to push the story out quickly. Author could have spent more time on plot and character development and less on the sexual aspects of the story (which was most of the story). If your preference is for a story with lots of sex and little plot, then this is the book for you.

It was a good short read. Not a lot of depth but overall good book.

I liked the twist of this fairy tale. Wish the ending explained more. Overall it was a fun quick read.

This was free and a definate change from the fairy tale. I would have given it more stars with a decent editing job. I would edit these for free! Good story, characters, but too short. Only one book in this freebie.

No heat between them and the Beast owns a sex club? It was definetly a stretch

DISGUSTING! 1st page and it's into graphic sex! GEEZE! I dumped it at that point. If you can't tell a story without blatant sex, there's no story!

The last few chapters were just confusing, at first I thought that a chapter from another book had been inserted. Still not sure, but the following chapter was confusing as well.

I’m noticing this trend throughout this series. There are areas where the books jump from one scene to the next, but not in a manner that lets the reader know the scene has changed. Rather you go from reading about a character and scene, and then that character is in the middle of another scene with no segue. It’s as if sections are missing to clue the reader into what it is going on. I noticed this issue in the first two books of the series, but figured that the author was still warming up, so to speak. But by the third book, this should not be still happening. It detracts from the story in a big way, and interrupts the flow. It’s getting to the point where I’m contemplating not finishing the story because these jumps are so aggravating. Anyway, apart from that…the story is interesting. The characters grow on you. This is an interesting twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast story. If the issues with the story flow were fixed, this would be a 5 star story!

I am a big fan of beauty and the beast stories. I am a big fan of beauty and the beast stories. In this one beauty is not only smart but tough. She has opinions and she will let you know it. There is so much to love but I don't want to spoil anything, but I'm definitely going to read this book again. :)

This book reads like erotica. It has both a strong hero and heroine. It has some interesting world building. It is not deep. It kept me entertained for a few hours.

This was a sexy, enjoyable version of The Beauty and the Beast. Prince Aiden, heir of Jereena, has been cursed and is now the Beast, owner of a brothel. Belle's brother stole from the Beast, and has to either repay the money or give the Beast one of his sisters. Belle is not about to let anything happen to her brother or sister, so she presents herself to the Beast. This was a great version and it was a very quick read. It is a stand alone book, though it is also part of a series of fairy tale retellings.
