As an ER doctor and someone whose friends turn to her in their hour of need, I can tell you that I have found Judge Judy's views to be right on the mark. It's not about being bitter! It's about being smart. Yeah, you may not like her advice because it's not candy-coated, but the woman's right...deal with it!
judge judy sees life and women's experiences from within the legal system. it is fully time that a woman within that system spoke up. granted, that perspective is rather slanted, but it also rewards common sense... i can't think of a better gift for young women ... the world is a remarkable place, but there are alot of cruel experiences if women are devoid of, or ignore, common sense. sometimes the small choices in life -- going along or taking a risk which seems innocuous make for massive life changes. several examples spring to mind, like not inviting a young man you've just met to spend time in your dorm room at college is one.... not hitchhiking.... not saying 'i've changed my mind and don't want to get married -- just because the preparations are all in place and a little money's been spent' -- when going thru with it would cost alot more than money in the long run -- the emotional and physical damage gets alot worse sometimes when we 'go along'.... this is not being 'bitter'; this is recognizing reality. good book.
