About the Author
Kristina O'Grady grew up on a ranch in Canada and has been told many times she should be writing about cowboys but she can't seem to leave the fantasy of Dukes and Earls alone. In mid- 2000 Kristina met her own knight in shining armour/cowboy who swept her off her feet and across the world to New Zealand, where she now lives on a sheep and beef farm with her amazingly supportive husband, three gorgeous kids, seven working dogs and one very needy cat.

If I enjoy an author's book, I am always on the lookout for more of their work. Since I read and liked Kristina O'Grady's first book in the Copeland Ranch trilogy, I definitely had to read the second book, Because of You, and I was not disappointed. This is the love story between B&B owner and wannabe chef, Beth Copeland, and Mark Asher, the small town's local attorney and best friend to Beth's older brother Ben. Both Beth and Mark have harbored feelings for each other for many years, but due to life, lack of communication, and Mark being joined to the hip of another woman, nothing could ever develop between them romantically. Now that Mark no longer has a girlfriend, he and Beth spend a passionate morning together, which leads to lust, desire, and unfortunately, avoidance. Beth's family knows that they are meant to be together, so after Mark gets accidentally plowed into by a crazy cow, Beth's mom makes sure that it is Beth who is to be Mark's caregiver. Mark supports Beth's goals, and through a little finagling, he ensures that her dreams come true. This is a fun and slightly emotional read that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Ms. O'Grady does an excellent job of developing the characters, while truly giving the reader a sense of who they are. I especially liked Jerry, even though he was a sinister secondary character, because I felt his meanness all the way down to my toes. Overall, this is a solid read and I can't wait to read the final book in the trilogy. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
