Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps for Attracting Your Perfect Mate by Patti Stanger, Lisa Johnson Mandell

The star of the hit show The Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger offers a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners guide to finding Mr. Right—in just one year!

Patti Stanger created an overnight Bravo sensation as the star of her own reality series The Millionaire Matchmaker. As a matchmaker, she has been in the enviable position of having men all over the country open up and reveal what made them want to settle down—and what sent them running.

To every single woman sitting home alone wondering, “Where are all the good men, and why isn’t a gorgeous one standing shirtless in my kitchen mixing me up a pomegranate mojito?” she says, “I hate to tell you this girlfriend, but it’s your own fault.” But don’t worry, with her straightforward attitude, Patti doles out her best tried-and-true advice to help women of all ages get out of their own way and get hitched.

Using her infectious confidence and bravado, Patti promises that if you follow her advice and commit to her program, you’ll have found Mr. Perfect in less than a year.

Just like on her show, Patti is full of tough love for all of us. She gives some good ideas for ways to get put yourself out there and meet guys. However, the focus seems to be on the fact that you will never find love if you don't first give yourself a makeover to look like a supermodel. While looking your best is important, the book precludes you from moving on to looking for a guy until you are certain you look absolutely perfect. Come on now, Patti. We're not just a bunch of ugly ducklings reading your book, nor are we looking for perfect 10's ourselves. We're just looking for love as the people we already are.

Loved the advice given here by the Millionare Matchmater. Patti really knows her stuff and it shows through her shrew yet very insightful advice. Some stuff you think, "It's just common sense," but if you look a little deeper, it is these things that usually escape us. Will be recommending this to friends, along with Become a Total Man Magnet: Make Every Man Fall in Love with You Instantly - Make Him Chase You Down Desperately and Beg for Attention

Even though Patti is still not married, the knowledge she shares in the book is quite amazing. The book is very enjoyable to read, and there is no such thing as a boring page in this book.

I bought this book because I'm a fan of Patty's show. I read the first few pages of the intro and found it boring. I decided to try a few more pages. I started reading Dating Detox and found it to be boring as well. I decided to skip to the next chapter. Patty talks about how women should look, exercise, eat, etc. I'm in the lower-middle class and I found her advice to be mainly for those with thick wallets and large bank accounts. I know I could NOT afford most of the things she recommends. I'm a happily married woman who has always been ME. I think women should be their TRUE selves around everyone, potential mates included. The right man wouldn't care if his woman came home and put on sweats, pulled her hair back in a ponytail, and washed all her makeup off. He would love her for HER, reguardless if she was dressed to the 9s or in a bathrobe. Patty seems to disagree with me. I stopped reading the book and have decided to trade it in at our local second hand bookstore. No offense, this just was NOT my kind of book. I still love her show and will continue to watch.

This book is a must read for single gals. Patty is abrasive with the truth but she tells it like it is. I have definitely learned some valuable tools from her that I intend on carrying with me as long as I can.

I had such a hard time dating and I never really knew why... This book has educated me about dating and how to do it right~ I'm a 5ft 6in Hawaiian female who got my MA at 22. Have a sucessful career- am 26 now- working in the medical field and love life. I'm on the quest for love and I appreciate how this book keeps everything in perspective for me. I always wondered why I was not satisfied with dating only one man in the beginning stages of a relationship. I now know that I am to have three guys in the dating cycle to keep myself occupied and happy before I commit to a relationship. Why didn't anyone break it down like this before?!?!? Patti is an amazing genious and I'm on my dating detox right now. I'm down 7lbs and running every day! I also have faith that I will attract the right man to me rather than reaching out to males. I learned that lesson and am so glad I'm on the detox to let it sink in that the males are the hunters and I need to let go to have them find me. I just may apply for the club after I finish my detox and see if there are any men who would be interested! GET THIS BOOK if you are a sucessful and wonderful and beautiful woman who still is looking for the right guy!

I was hoping this would come in a plain brown envelope because I was a bit embarrassed that I ordered it. I had read an excerpt on another site and was intrigued. I am not looking to get married, being a divorced woman, but I am looking for a more meaningful relationship and wanting to attract that 'this time around'. I thought Patti's advice was wonderful because it really centered on the person that you are and looking at yourself. Isn't that what makes a healthy relationship...being a healthy partner and knowing what you want?! I loved focusing on ME and what I was looking for. It did center me and help me know what I want and I do not want. I realized several things about myself that I need to work on, and since I have not dated for decades...yes, decades, it was a great refresher on what is appropriate. This was not sleezy, like another title I ordered at the same time. But I liked how upfront and real it was. Worthwhile and enjoyable!

Patti's book The Millionaire Matchmaker or being your own Matchmaker... is awesome! After years and years of my own horrible research I now have figured out what myself and my friends have been doing wrong... basically everything! This book tells it like it is and like I have said... it's funny, smart and Patti does not mess around she tells you just as it is. My friend has been reading my book and I think I'm going to buy one for her for her Graduation Gift... she is now using it as her dating bible. I have had to learn to become more assertive with Men and just say No to so many of my Narcissist.
