Bed-Bugged by Susan J. Kroupa

Laugh out loud with Doodle, the obedience-impaired labradoodle who has charmed mystery fans and dog lovers alike.

When Doodle's "career change" lands him a job with a new boss, he's not worried. Sniffing out bed bugs? Easy as pie. Well, easier, actually, as getting pie can be a problem for a dog. Doodle finds best part of the new job is Molly, the boss's ten-year old daughter, who slips Doodle extra treats when she's not snapping photos with the camera she carries everywhere. But Molly has secrets of her own. And when she enlists Doodle's help to solve a crime, his nose and her camera lead them straight into danger.

Readers have called the Doodlebugged mysteries perfect of fans of Spencer Quinn's popular Chet & Bernie mysteries, and best-selling author Virginia Smith called Bed-Bugged, "a first-rate mystery" and a "triumphant beginning to a series." A family friendly mystery perfect for all ages.

Cute mystery about a working dog who finds bed bugs, and the family he lives with. The story is told from the dog's point of view. Together with Molly the youngest family member, they embark on a dangerous adventure. Read on to see what trouble these two get into!

If you like animals, in particular dogs, you'll love this story! Great book for teens, tweens and even younger kids who like to read. There is no foul language, no sexual inuendos and is fun! I am a great-grandmother and I enjoyed it! Makes you wonder if dogs really have this much intelligence to reason things out like Doodle does. My little Yorke seems to have the same reactions to words! Gives you reason to have a bit more patiece when your puupy acts a certain way. Really loved this story! Can't wait to start on the rest of Doodles adventures!

Reviewed by Kristen Van Kampen (Teen Reviewer) for Readers' Favorite Bed-Bugged by Susan J Kroupa is about a dog named Doodle, who is what they call a career change dog, meaning he got fired. Doodle now has a job sniffing out bed bugs. The best part of his new job is Molly, his boss’s daughter, who sneaks him treats when she's not taking pictures with her beloved camera. When Molly's computer and camera are stolen, Doodle and Molly team up to find the computer and camera, but that only deepens the mystery. Using Molly's brain and Doodle's sense of smell, will they be able to solve the mystery, or have they gotten in over their heads? Bed-Bugged was very well written and exciting. The first page hooked me and I couldn't put the book down. Everyone will like this book, especially dog lovers. I liked that it was written from Doodle’s point of view which I thought was unique. The characters were likeable and each character had a very well developed personality. I wish I had a dog like Doodle. I enjoyed trying to solve the mystery. Doodle had a very funny point of view and it made me wonder what it would be like to be a dog. This book is relatable to people who have a dog. Bed-Bugged is definitely a page-turner. I enjoyed the book so much that it's hard to find a word strong enough to describe it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone of any age group. I loved Bed-Bugged.

Bed-Bugged, the first book in the Doodlebugged Mysteries, engages the reader in a thought experiment: what would our world look like from the point of view of a dog who has not had an easy time amongst humans? The results are funny, insightful, touching. The canine-narrator of these books has the good fortune to be rescued by a young single-father and his daughter—they save him; and he, in turn, saves them in all the ways that matter. Did I mention that these books are well written? My Mother and I read these books together. When we had finished the last page, we did not want them to be over. I recommend these books.

Do you love dogs? If so, read no further. You'll love Bed-Bugged: a Doodlebug Mystery, so just buy it without delay. Do you love mysteries? If so, you're going to love Bed-Bugged, but you might need more convincing. Why? Because you may never have read a mystery with a dog as detective. Or with a dog as detective narrator. Or especially with a bedbug sniffing dog as detective narrator. But that's exactly what Doodle, the Labradoodle, is. I loved many thing about the book, not the least of which was the mystery itself, which concerns a number of crimes from simple theft to complex theft to kidnapping. (No murders, no awful language, and no explicit sex, so your kids can enjoy it, too.) I enjoyed all the characters, but I couldn't help falling in love with Doodle and his owner's daughter, Molly. But in a way, I most loved watching a story from the low-down, smell-based point of view of a working dog. For me, a mystery reader and writer, it opened my mind to many new ways of observing a crime and its solution.
