I am in the process of reading this book (about half way through) and I do have to admit that it is a great book but some of the material may be a bit confusing if you are someone like me and needs to know why I should do this or that. The book does a good job at explaning everything and how to do it, but provides little, if any, description of what certain things do and why you should include them. This was obviously a book that the author had intended on using as a 'reference guide' in a classroom that he would talk about to fill in the gaps. Overall though it is a great book for beginners to programming and C++ programming and I highly reccomend this book to anyone interested in game programming and who has no prior knowledge of C++ game programming.
