It’s 1986. Ian Harrington is living the good life in Toronto: he is the lead singer of Something Else and is raising his six-year old daughter, Victoria. His life is busy and creatively satisfying, but he has not been able to hold a romantic relationship since Sarah. A chance encounter with a former flame offers the possibility of lasting love, but the liaison is fraught with conflicts and challenges both new and echoed. By following his heart, Ian risks having his world turned upside down. Standing still threatens far more…
Behind Blue Eyes is a four-part series following a young musician's turbulent life as he makes his rock and roll dreams come true in a city far from where he grew up. Equal parts family saga, love story, and rock and roll circus, this first novel will take you back to the late 70s in Toronto for a dramatic roller-coaster ride through the world of music.
Inspired by the Pete Townshend song made famous by The Who, the series is at once a nostalgic love letter to the author's hometown and to the music she listened to while growing up there.

I Loved this book I am a huge fan of Anne-Marie Klein’s Behind Blue Eyes series. Ian is a talented musician, and is a complex man with some serious issues, but he is also sensitive and caring, and is a loving and passionate man. Being alone is not ideal for him as he needs someone in his life he can share his dreams and successes with - someone who can love him with the same capacity for love, that he has. I was thrilled when an old flame entered his life, she is perfect for him, but things do not always go according to plan. Ian often finds himself with his foot firmly in his mouth as he has a habit of saying things before thinking them through, or in anger without meaning to, and this gets him into a lot of trouble - and there comes a time when this leads to his worst nightmare. I loved this book and highly recommend it. It is a beautiful, well written, sexy rock ‘n roll love story, and is written with a very obvious passion for music, which I appreciate. None of the books in the series end on a cliffhanger, they all flow effortlessly into each other. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series – even though I know it will be the last book, but I am hopeful that the author will carry on writing, and give us another Rock ‘n Roll series we can get lost in I loved this book.
