About the Author

Ever since she first read books like Chronicles of Narnia or Goosebumps, Alicia has been a lover of mind-bending fiction. Wherever imagination takes her, she is more than happy to call that place her home. The mother of two and wife to an Army sergeant loves chocolate, coffee, and of course good books. When not writing, you can usually find her with her nose in a book, shopping for shoes and fabulous jewelry, or spending time with her loving family.

Truly enjoyed this book. Bad language was minimal, but wished you had left out all bad language. Very entertaining!

I've read many Beauty and the Beast (and alternative versions) stories, and loved most of them. This one will certainly be joining my favorites among them. The addition of ghost story to this retelling is the first time I've seen this combination. The contemporary setting makes it feel like it could be set any time after smart phones fell into common use. The characters feel like they have believeable motivations. Tate and his anger, his mother's wistfulness, his father's distant and robotic manner. Bellamy's reactions to first meeting the ghosts, to Tate, Max, Faith, and her own father's actions and reactions to her. The people feel like relatable people you could meet... some of them ones you will be glad to pass on meeting. (Lincoln and friends, looking at you.)

Interesting twist on beauty and the beast, a bit predictable because of that but with many new elements

Well rounded characters—both our heroes and our villains—and a plot that works. I much appreciate the clean language too, after reading a love story with way too many F words. This author has emotional characters that show strong feelings appropriately without ugly language. Thanks!

I loved this book SO much!!!! It is a true story of learning to love and a mystery after every corner. Most importantly, it is a story of self acceptance. A truely beautiful work of literature.

This book surprised me in a way that a book hasn’t since I read my first Lisa Kleypas. I devoured every word;loving the fairy tale aspect, caught up in the mystery and the horror of murder. I have never cared for witches and warcraft but this novel offered so much more. An African American heroine I was enamored with her both her strength and fragility and tickled that she knew what a good hair wrap and satin pillow cases can do to a head. The story was charmingly fresh and if ever anyone rooted for a happy ending but was dreading the story ending it was me. It was better than good it was absolutely delicious.

Great book. Good story line with enjoyable characters. Even though the ghost aspect made me a little wary at first, it definitely made the book better by the end.

Was very well written . A believable story if your a person who can open there mind. Definitely and for a teen to read. Characters were defined and you could almost see them in your mind. Nice, Sweet fairy tale.

The characters are engaging and the story moves at a brisk pace. A really good modern twist on beauty and the beast.

Bellamy and Tate from different backgrounds help ghosts find justice while endangering themselves in solving cold case muders and learn looks are deceiving and love can build unexpectally

The book was refreshing that the character's ethnicity were described as people of color . I enjoyed the idea of the supernatural idea of ghost and a curse. However the plot went sort of side ways by switching focus off of the supernatural and focusing on a mystery of murder and romance of the main characters . Then I was sort of bored of the plot after while and skimmed the ending . Overall this young adult book was a good read.

The characters were well rounded and honest. I loved all of them and the way the story was told was lovely. I finished this in roughly 10 hours, I was hooked from page 1. Thank you so much for this gem!
