Beloved One by Danelle Harmon

Wounded in battle, Englishman Charles de Montforte has awakened to find himself in the tender care of a sensuous, sloe-eyed lockal miss, whose beauty would be a joy he would treasure always...if only their paths had crossed in some other place and time. Charles's heart is profoundly moved by Amy Leighton's desperate plight, and her curvaceous dark loveliness and gentle, healing touch are enflaming his desire. But the noble British lord is already taken, though Amy soon lures him away from past loyalties to Crown and fiancee with a golden, rapturous promise of love happily forever after.

Amy has long prayed for someone special to enter her life -- someone who would take her far away from the daily drudgery imposed upon her by a cruel, unloving step-family. Now fate has brought her the strong yet gentle man of her dreams; but the handsome stranger is from an enemy land...and he's sworn to love another.

I think I cried through out this whole book. It's of those good cries! DH keeps the theme of the series going w/the dynamic's between the brothers while adding strong secondary characters. It's almost a Cinderella story and I love a Cinderella story.

So when I read the synopsis and started reading the book I was pissed at Charles! How could he betray Juliet!?!? The evil man! But things arent always as they appear.......I absolutely just fell on love with Charles! Dont miss this exciting stories of another de Montforte brother!

Another great book that I loved from start to finish. Make sure you read the first book in this series first (The Wild One). Once again just the right amount of everything and so much different than the first....Well except for one factor the Machiavellian Duke, gotta love him. I am off to the third book that I am sure will be just as good as the first 2.. Happy reading

I read this book before the first in this series. It was so good, I immediately had to read the rest. Great read!

I love this take on Cinderella. Although there was no wicked step-mother, there were two horribly nasty sisters. Over the top nasty. They deserved everything they got and more. A delightful, relaxing, pleasurable read.

I do enjoy reading this series except for the repeat of same incidents over & over. Sorry!

I read these first two of the series back to back. While this one is good, it was harder to read than the first. Charles emotions after his accident were acceptable for awhile but he seemed to go too far for too long in feeling inferior and unworthy.

I read all four books in this series starting with book 1. It starts the series off introducing us to one of the 4 de Monteforte brothers, Garath. The theme of the series involves ploys of the eldest brother Lucien who successfully puts on the persona of being a mean, conniving, brother that threatens and manipulates his 3 younger brothers. Readers will discover the motivations behind his wicked behaviors as they go through the series. I enjoy the authors ability to provide readers with historical fiction with romance, intrigue and humor. After finishing this book I was eager to move on to the next.

You must read all 4 of these books.   The stories all tie together the characters.     Especially the last one, where Lucian finally gets his due...
