After 42 years of recording and performing (actually 47 years of the latter, since the band was founded five years before the release of its first single in 1969), German schlager superstars Flippers
called it quits in early 2011. For this two-CD best-of, they invited their fans to vote for the most popular songs and collected the top 42 tracks, which naturally include their biggest singles (such as 1969's "Weine Nicht Kleine Eva" and 1986's "Die Rote Sonne von Barbados") and a number of album tracks. However, since it is nearly impossible to cram 42 years and over 40 albums' worth of music into a single collection, some of their minor hits are missing (e.g. "Malaika," "Mädchen von Capri").
