Roth and I are on an open-ended tour of the world. Roth being Roth, this means missionary in Morocco, reverse cowgirl in Calcutta, bent over the bow of a houseboat in Hanoi, slow and sleepy on St. John. Anywhere and everywhere, in every conceivable position, and some I didn't know were possible.

Life was pretty incredible.

Until I woke up in his chateau in France, alone. On the bed next to me was a note. There were only four words:

He belongs to me.

TEN STARS FOR BETA!! ***Unsolicited Review***This book started with action and didn't stop! It grabbed me from the first sentence and I swear, there were times I held my breath. Jack and Jasinda brought their A-Game, and this read more like a James Bond or Jason Bourne novel than a romance. Don't get me wrong, the sex was super hot, hot, hot, but it wasn't the main focus of the story. Please write the screenplay for this and send it to Hollywood, pretty please? They need some fresh ideas and this is a great place to start. If I could add more stars, I would. I say TEN STARS FOR BETA! :)

Wow...just wow! There really are no words to describe how absolutely awesome Jasinda's writing is.. this book totally blew me away! I was emotionally all over the place and totally consumed by this book from start to finish, this was one of those books where you wanted to look away for a moment just to catch your breath but at the same time you were compelled to keep reading so you could find out what happened next!! Simply amazing!

When purchasing an erotic romance, I don't expect sadistic sexual torture. Having read Alpha in one day and loved it, I immediately dived into Beta, expecting more of the same. What I got was cruel sadistic psychological abuse and torture at the hands of Gina. Not what I signed up for, but soldiered through it because I came to care for Kyrie and Roth and wanted to see it through.

Wow, this was intense! I read it today in one sitting. Thank goodness for lazy Sundays! I enjoyed the suspense element even if for me the kidnapping, rape and gun battle scenes made this sequel a darker story than I expected. I’m not a huge fan of dark reads, but I really cared about the fates of Kyrie St. Claire, her lover, Valentine Roth, his bodyguard Nicholas Harris and even Roth’s ex-criminal/arms dealer friend, Henri Desjardins. The villain in this story was one sick, sadistic and cunning witch. There were lots of emotionally charged moments as Valentine and Kyrie worked through the damage caused by the villain’s actions. Fortunately, said villain’s demise was very satisfying but sets up a looming revenge threat to everyone close to Kyrie and Valentine.  And of course, no Jasinda Wilder book would be complete without some seriously steamy sex scenes, but actually some of my favorite moments were on the sweeter side. I’m looking forward to seeing whatever happens next for them in Omega (Alpha #3) expected in 2015.

Alpha was a bit short of okay, but this is awful. It was a bad action flick in a book and very violent and a non-ending to boot. Would have given no stars if possible.

Alpha was pretty okay, but the sex scenes were a bit uncomfortable for me. Bera gave me chills. And not the good kind. If your one for BDSM more power ro ya, but it was so bad I had ro stop reading it.

Erin's Book Reviews: An Author Reviewing Other Authors Now that Kyrie has found her mysterious benefactor, who happens to be a mutli billionaire hottie with a penchant for giving her mind blowing orgasms, she lets him whisk her around the world in private jets and expansive yachts. She thinks life couldn't get any better. Until she wakes up one morning in an empty bed and a note saying: "He's mine." After reading the first book Alpha I thought "Hey there's another one, its probably full of the same. You know chapter after chapter of crazy sex with a little but of lovey dovey sprinkled in." Boy was I wrong! Beta has some steamy sex scenes just like its predecessor, but there is a lot of turmoil going on in the book. Post traumatic stress from torture and rape (thankfully not too graphic), learning to be strong and heal from the trauma is a heart breaking ordeal that was surprising in what I thought was a primarily erotica novel. There really was nothing bad I could say about this novel only that I didn't enjoy it as much as the first one. Possibly because I was looking for some mindless erotica fun (who isn't?). It was still a good read, but I probably won't read the next one (at least not when I'm paying for it). This is definitely a rated R book and not read recommended with anyone that has an issue with man or woman rape and torture, even for how mild it is. I give it a 4 bunny rating!

Loved everything about this book. Jasinda Wilder writes the best books, the story line is great. Valentine and Kryrie are so good together, they love each other, the sex is hot, and they would give their lives for each other. All the characters in this book work. I laughed, wanted to cry, was scared to death when Gina took Kryie and was relieved when Valentine found her. Can' t wait to see whats next.

Beta by Jasinda Wilder was a crazy. Like crazy emotional and crazy violent with crazy people. It was emotionally charged from one end of the spectrum to the other. I was stunned at several points, freaked out at several points and a little turned on at times. And for some reason, Wilder’s books seem to have a positive affect on my husband (wink). After reading Alpha and being caught up in Roth and Kyrie’s relationship, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Beta. But then I read a couple of reviews. And waited. And thought about it. Because the reviews mentioned it being a little darker. A little edgy or raw, which made me nervous because I am an emotional person and feel everything I read. I finally decided to go for it even though I was a bit cautious. The reviews for Beta are not wrong. It is darker. It is edgy and raw. Some of the scenes were tough to take. The evil in a couple of these characters is incomprehensible but I have no doubt those types of people exist in this world (I hope I never meet anyone like them). What Wilder does with this story is phenomenal though. She is able to push the lines of the subject matter and turn it into love between two people that grows even stronger because of the horror they encountered. Roth and Kyrie go through some very nasty things. Things that would leave anyone broken. The love between Roth and Kyrie only goes stronger because of the hell they both are going through, had to go through to get back to where they want to be. They deal. They have never been dragged down lower than they are in this story so far. I am not sure I have ever read a story this deeply emotional before. I thoroughly enjoyed how Wilder writes the books in first person and we get to see both sides. We get to feel the anguish and despair through the eyes of the characters. But then we get to see hope and love and promise for what is left and what is still to come. Can you tell this book is slightly emotional? I still cant tell you if I actually liked the book or not. But it affected me. It makes me realize what I have in my life and the blessings I have been given. It makes me realize that love can conquer a whole hell of a lot of things. And it takes one step at a time to get through hell. I am a huge romantic suspense fan so I loved all the rescues that happened in this book. I can’t wait to see what Harris has up his sleeve for Omega and Alpha One Security. He rocks and is completely badass. I am so looking forward to the next story and I hope that Roth and Kyrie truly get their happy ever after and don’t have to spend the rest of their days running. If you like sexy, edgy, dark and emotionally raw stories, give this book a try. This book is not a stand alone, though, so you do need to read Alpha first.

Love this series. I just love Roth and Kyrie and also Harris . I really do hope that you write the third book in the future.  They need to have a Happy ending. where no one is after them.they both deserve that for what they are going through.

In book one I was left a bit wanting, and wondering where the story was. Book two was definitely better, it was crazy but better. It's unlike anything else I have read from Jasinda but none the less I really liked it. Jasinda never fails to deliver a great story that is hot steamy and unforgettable. I recommend reading the Beta series if your into Dark erotic romance.

(3.75 stars) When I finished Alpha my first thoughts were 1) I loved it and 2) while it was different than her other series, Jasinda knocked the story out of the park. After reading Beta I think while it's still part of the series that she out did herself and wrote a much darker & grittier story. Valentine & Kyrie are enjoying being together while traveling the world. Their world is shattered when Valentine is kidnapped. Having nobody to turn to she enlists Harris to help her find Roth. Starting with Chapter 4 we begin to get Valentine's POV. His first chapter was extremely hard for me to get through & knew at that point that this was going to be a very different story. I think his chapters were necessary and after his rescue (I mean come on you knew that was going to happen) they had made more of an impact then if we hadn't had them. Just as they begin to think the worst is behind them, they're wrong. That's all I'll say because I don't want to spoil anything. IMO the part between Roth's rescue & the next big plot twist was a bit slow but once it picks up again it's nonstop until the end. These two are put through so much in this book that IF there is a third book I have no idea what more they can handle!!

I absolutely loved this story. Even through all the darkness & pain... I still kept reading. Cause I just had to know what was going to happen next. But to end it so abruptly... not even a cliffhanger?? Jasinda, you must write a third book to this series. To wrap it all up. Your fans need to know how the story finally ends.. & if there might be a future for even Harris & Layla. That would be a great story to tell. Hopefully you surprise us with a third book!!

So not what I expected.  I never saw any of this coming.
