From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover, comes the second book in a combustible new series, Welcome to the Point, that is sexier, darker, and better than ever.

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who is bad. . . . Welcome to the Point.

In a dark and broken kingdom, a ruler has be fearless to control the streets and the ruthless people who run them. Race Hartman is just bold enough, just smart enough, and just lost enough to wear the crown. Race has a plan, but can he prevent total annihilation without destroying himself?

Brysen Carter has always seen the real Race—a guy too pretty, too smooth, and way too dangerous. Basking in his golden glow is very tempting, but Brysen knows she’ll eventually get burned. Too bad Brysen faces a threat close to home that might be more dangerous than anything The Point has ever produced.. And the only person interested in keeping her safe is the one man she can’t allow herself to have.

Sometimes being bold is the only way to stay alive. But can she let Race save her life . . . if it means losing herself to him?

Race Hartman is slick, savvy and sexy as sin. I don't know how she does it, but Jay always manages to write characters that feel incredibly real, and layered and who I fall in love with each and every time. I love her Marked Men series, but the Point is it's whole own brand of unputdownable fun. Don't miss out on this series! FIVE STARS!

Better when He's Bold is an amazing standalone or continuation in Welcome to the Point series. Jay is such a fabulous writer; the writing is gritty, raw, and real. Better when He's Bold will draw you right in with this complex couple Race and Brysen, and not let you go because they will leave with a peace of your heart! Brysen is tougher then you may at first think. She may come off as girly and high maintenance but she has an edge. Brysen is dealing with so much in her personal life and even though she may appear to be perfect on the outside her life is far from that. Brysen is just trying to keep everything together for her younger sister, she wants her to have as normal childhood as possible.  Race is dealing with keeping the Point out of the hands of those who would use it for darker purposes and take advantage. This means that Race has to give of him self and at times do things he doesn't likes and be a person he doesn't always likes. Race believes this is all for a greater good, but with a new enemy threatening it all, can Race protect the the Point? Will Race lose everything trying? These are questions that you will be asking all through this book and after. Jay is great at suspense and keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very end! Better when He's Bold is no exception!  You get a fearless Dovie in this book who is growing as a person after her past experiences and being with BAX. You get more BAX and who doesn't what that!!! Bax is still just as tough, bad and sexy in this book as he was in Better when He's Bad. We also get some of Titus, Bax's cop brother which was awesome because now I really want his book Better when He's Brave. This book is full of suspense, romance, action and is just like the author REAL!!! I loved it and am giving it 5 out of 5 stars.

and it just keeps getting better..... Jay Crownover has a way of taking the gritty and turning it into an appealing revelation. Every bad boy she writes has so many thorns but as the reader you cannot help but fall in love with them. She writes incredible badass characters, both male and female, that bring the world to a better light. This book is no exception. It is fantastic, with complex characters and gritty situations. Better When He's Bold picks up where Better When He's Bad ended, with Race attempting to take complete control of the Point and keep it from falling further down the corruption rabbit trail. It is a dirty job, but someone needs to do it. He must sacrifice who he has been in the past for who he needs to be in the future. When someone starts to play with Brysen's life, escalating to attacking her, Race is determined to save her and the Point at the same time, no matter the cost. I don't even know how to truly put into words how much I LOVED this book. I have been a fan of Crownover's since I stumbled upon Rule years ago. Her writing has matured and turned into something that legends are made of. Better When He's Bold is a prime example of how incredible an author she is. This book and new series, takes something that is gritty, raw, terrifying, and at times horrifying, and shows that there is hope and a future for those willing to do what it takes. It is a book and series that blurs the lines of right and wrong, showing the grey area where Race and Bax reside. The Point is a dark place full of corruption. It is the definition of the “grey area” where the end result justifies the means. If you want something, you take it. In this world, nothing is free. It always turns into a debt, payment, or a favor down the road. It is full of rough and scary characters that thrive on the society they find themselves in. The desperation is felt yet it is never overwhelming. There is always a sliver of hope of goodness to fight for and that is what our unlikely Point heroes do. Crownover writes some wonderful characters and this book introduces us to some complex and well written ones. Race Hartman is a man on a mission. He straddles the line between good and evil. He is a boy from the Hill who completely immersed himself in the Point, creating a man who understands and can function in both worlds. Race does what it takes to keep things running smoothly, yet struggles with the toll it takes on him. He is a broken king for a broken kingdom, the perfect analogy of who he is and what his goal is. Brysen is Dovie's best friend and a woman who possesses a strength that is powerful. She is the protector of what is left of her family, taking care of her mother and sister, while her father ignores his duties. Brysen is a woman who understands what it means to sacrifice for those she loves and take a stand for what she loves and needs in her life. She is kind, smart, beautiful, and a total badass with wit. She is the perfect protector of Race's humanity. The romance between Brysen and Race is HOT. These two have been shuffling around each other since the last book and when they finally give in, it is hot and wild. They are able to find a new level of understanding in each other. Both Race and Brysen have people they would die for; people they would kill for. When they finally give into the chemistry building between them they fall further into lust that develops into a powerful connection that is important to this story. These two are truly perfect for each other. They balance out what is known of the world and creates a safe haven in which to escape the ever present darkness around them. This book is one of my absolutely favorites by Jay. It takes all of her incredible talent and her writing style to the next level. I loved the raw struggles and the intensity: the ever present battle between good, evil, and the lesser evils. I love the element of suspense and drama that lures you in and surprises you at every turn. There is more Dovie and Bax, which made me so happy! We see more of Titus and Nassir, two badasses who are so opposite from each other yet so incredible sexy! (I cannot wait to read the books for these two. Talk about major sexy alpha alert that will blow our minds!) If you love the Marked Men series, The Welcome to the Point series,  Jay Crownover, or just excellent stories and writing, then you need to one click this book today! It was an adrenaline packed ride that left me breathless for more!

BETTER WHEN HE’s BOLD by Jay Crownover Better When He’s Bold is the 2nd book in the Welcome to the Point series and I thought I loved a Bad Boy when I first met Bax in Better When’s He’s Bad but what I did not know was that Race would have Bax move over to share the thrown of badness. I was super excited to get my hands on Race’s story. Race has the good-looks of a God and just is always teetering on that very thin, thin line between right and wrong. Race earns his King status of the Point by being determined to do whatever it takes to take care of his, and the Point is exactly that, his.  Race was once just another spoiled rich kid, but when his life is thrown into a tail spin by someone that he thought he could trust, Race has to look inward and find his own truth, his sense of right and wrong, and find his own way, where he feels the most of everything, The Point. Race becomes the King of the Point, not for greed or power but to keep the balance and not allow evil to take over. In a constant internal battle between the light and the dark within himself, Race finds his small personal salvation in the only girl he craves, Brysen. Brysen however, only sees Race as another problem in her stream of bad luck. Byrsen is taking care of everyone and she does not need to worry about not one more person. Responsibility is the only thing on her mind but her body has other plans. Brysen cannot think with her head when Race is around and she is scared of all the heartache and trouble that Race will sure to bring. Her icy façade works on everyone around her except Race. He sees right through her to the real beauty inside. However, it goes both ways, Brysen sees the goodness that is just right under the surface in Race. Race is the only person that might be able to keep her safe from the danger that her and her family faces. Brysen is fierce. She has so many layers that only Race can peel away. The relationship between Race and Brysen is totally straight forward and honest and organic.  Better When He’s Bold is full of suspense, mystery, fights and all the ugliness the Point can bring but mixed with the beauty of a character driven plot that Jay Crownover is known to write. The Point is a place that comes alive between the cover of Better When He’s Bold and once there, one will never want to leave.  Better When He’s Bold by Jay Crownover receives 5 stars. Texas Hugs and Happy Reading!!!

I hate to admit thus but I've had this book since it first came out and it hid in my library of ebooks for so long. Now I regret not reading this book sooner! I freaking loved it and writing this review as quick as I can so that I can continue the series. I couldn't put it down shrank when I did I picked it back to read more of it. All I can say is I wish I had a Jared living right next to me! I loved all the songs that were mentioned...reading it now 2018 just had me smiling the whole time!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about a strong heroine knowing herself and being able to weather any storm that came her way. I liked Race and I understood his loyalty to The Point. I loved how much of a fierce protector he is; however, as smart as he is, I did want to throttle him because of his reluctance to carry a weapon! ?

Excellent series! Race Hartman is a little different than Jay Crownover's usual characters, but that doesn't mean you wont fall in love with the bold boy. This series is action packed with lots of twists and turns! I loved every minute of it. Definitely read Better When He's Bad first to catch the full story line.

Race and Brysen are by far my favorite Point characters. Two people from similar worlds but choosing to be in different worlds can bring wonderful things into the mix. I dont know what to say other then I love Race and he is not at all what I thought he would be  but in the most wonderful way;)  "I take care of my own, Brysen. Like it or not, that includes you."

"I need you to keep me from turning into something I hate, but I can't ask you to give yourself to the streets, to this life, if it's not what you want." Love these bad boys of the Point...Race doesn't disappoint!

Really enjoyed this book. The Point series is a much different view of people and lives compared to the Marked Men series. I enjoy both series and will continue to read them as they are released. Even though this is book 2 of the series, you are able to read as a stand alone.

Race is the smooth bad boy, the one like Macallan single malt going down your throat. He is rare, expensive, and so damn good, you wake up naked the next morning wanting to be bad with him all over again. If you like your bad boys sexy ad smooth, pick up a copy of Better When He's Bold for your next favorite book boyfriend.

I totally fell in love with The Point in Better When He's Bad and Jay doesn't disappoint with the next installment. Better When He's Bold was another great book in the series. The story between Race and Brysen was hot and -like the title - bold! If you haven't read this series yet then you are missing out. Take the trip and fall in love with these bad boys!

I didn't think any Point guy could touch Bax but I loved Race! He's sweet, sexy, considerate, protective, tough and smart. He's the soft, seductive side to Bax's raw, animalistic sexiness. The characters are so real and multifaceted too. Love Jay's writing and these stories. Lots of drama, danger, sex and love.
