Bettie Page sent the world for a cold shower when her first photo appeared in Flirt magazine in 1951. Bettie ignited a flame that burned through the art community, affecting forever the way women were portrayed by artists and photographers. Historian and artist Jim Silke explores Bettie's influence on popular culture, from dime-store novels to paperbacks, and from painting to advertising. Included in this volume are photographs of Bettie, many never before seen, as well as artists' representations of Bettie. Illustrations by Silke, Dave Stevens, William George, Mitchell Hooks, James Martin, Mark Westermore, Robert McGinnis, Mark Schultz, and Frank Frazetta.

A very nice informative magazine/book. Quite a few pics I've heard about, but never seen. A good one to purchase for the person just learning about Bettie Page.
