About the Author

Cyndi Tefft lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest where the weather is overcast and rainy, much like the Highlands of Scotland. So she was right at home when she got the chance to visit Eilean Donan Castle. A self-proclaimed Scot freak, she loved every bit about the trip to Scotland: the people, the kilts, the accents, the fish & chips, the haggis...well okay, not the haggis.

Between was an impressive read for several reasons. Let's start with the characters shall we? Needless to say that the hot Scot himself, Aiden MacRae earned one of those starts all on his own. Tefft managed to write one of the sexiest characters I have read to date. While the relationship between Lindsey and Aiden seemed to bloom incredibly quickly and seeming out of nowhere at first, it does manage to turn into a convincing love, which was incredibly moving. The settings in this book are fantastic. At times reading this felt like taking a trip back in time. The Scottish highlands were breathtaking just to read about. I had never felt the desire to visit Scotland until I finished reading Between. The third reason I enjoyed this particular read so much was for the emotional value. It is a beautifully written, poignant story that at times was utterly heart wrenching. Towards the end I could feel Lindsey's pain and sadness and longing emanating from the pages. I fluctuated from wanting to squeeze the happy couple, to having tears in my eyes and at times I wanted to cheer. Cyndi Tefft is an impressive author who has written a beautiful story in Between. I would definitely recommend this read to anyone looking for a touching love story with a serious degree of YUM tossed in for good measure. The action may have been a bit lacking in this particular installment, but if that's what your looking for just wait for the sequel, Hell Transporter

I have not started many books with the death of a main character. But this was not Lindsey's end it was her beginning. She wakes up in a beautiful field with Aiden, the Highlander. It was great to see a story where love can begin after a life has ended. It was a wonderful learning experience for both characters. The book did have some Christian references, but it did not diminish my enjoyment of the book.Between is a wonderful story of love, romance and redemption. I recommend this book for everyone who wants to be enchanted just for a little while.

Ok, I really loved this book! Like I am completely in love and not going back, ever! What I like most about this book are the characters. They are unique themselves that they tell their own story! The characters change before the readers eyes into a better person they ever thought they be.The storyline is another amazing plot where the reader falls into instantly. It is easy to fall into this plot because we've all dreamed what it would be like to die. What happens afterward and such. I really like the concept of it.The love interest in this book is amazing! You the reader really feel the love between Aiden and Lindsey. You see them struggle when they are apart and you fight for them all the way! I really like how complete these two are with each other. They see things completely different than most people and don't take things for granted. I adore that they both are on the same page. They are truly a couple who can last forever! If you like hunky scots and a great love then read this book! I can guarantee you that you will fall in love with it. It is an amazing book that you will never forget!

Between begins with Lindsey and her somewhat boyfriend, Ravi getting into a horrible car accident, leaving Lindsey seriously injured. When Aiden MacRae comes to her side, he explains that he there to help Lindsey get to heaven, and the two of them leave the scene of the accident.Aiden died in the 1700¿s and was refused entry into heaven. Instead he was told that he will be stuck between heaven and earth and he will transport souls to heaven until he meets the one that will redeem him and allow him entry into the pearly gates. Before Lindsey makes the final trip to heaven, she and Aiden spend time together, reliving memories from both of their lives, him at The Palace of Versailles and her in the present day. I really enjoyed the parts where Lindsey was trying to explain to Aiden about technology. Aiden was adorable trying to learn how to use a camera. One day, Lindsey begins to disappear right in front of Aiden¿s eyes. The doctors at the hospital have been working on her, and she finally woke up. Lindsey doesn¿t remember at first, but slowly her memories of Aiden come back to her. She loved Aiden, and would do anything to be able to see him again.I absolutely loved the ending! I definitely was not expecting it and I wonder where Cyndi Teff is going to take this story. My only issue with Between was I felt the relationship between Aiden and Lindsey was rushed. They just met, and a few days later they claim to be married and madly in love. Don¿t get me wrong, I thought the two of them were so cute together, especially with a Scottish man that still speaks in 1700¿s twang, but I just didn¿t feel it was realistic enough, even for a supernatural kind of story.Overall, a wonderful and original story and I am glad to be a part of the blog tour! I can¿t wait to read the second book, Hell Transporter.

When I first started this book, I found myself enjoying it. That is what a book is meant for right? It was good, the characters were interesting but I wasn’t feeling that special spark. It moved at a rather quick speed at first and I found myself flipping pages trying to see what exactly I missed. However, a HUGE (and I mean HUGE, people!) twist right in the middle of the story, had me falling head over heels in love! It starts off with the main character, Lindsey, dying in a car crash (see what I mean starting off fast? It got straight to the point!). Instead of being whisked off to heaven, Lindsey finds herself in a between world. It is there that she meets Aiden, the man in charge of getting her to heaven, leading her towards the light. However, things go astray when these two start having feelings for each other; real, falling for each other hard core feelings! Usually I am quite irritated with the insta-love connections that a lot of paranormal books have. A love that can be found with just a simple glance from across the room has been so over-done. Between did have that insta-love thing going on but I found myself looking at it from a new perspective. Me being a person who has never experienced the L-word before wouldn’t know what it is like. Maybe some people really are destined for each other. When you see someone that you were meant to be with, maybe you just know, you get a special feeling telling you to hold on, this person could be important. It is these thoughts that popped into my brain while reading Between. Any book that can make you do that, change your thoughts on something completely, is pretty spectacular! This is the first book that I have ever read that has dealt with primarily romance (there was paranormal-ness too and I will talk about that next) and let me tell you people, I am hooked! The romance between Aiden and Lindsey was marvelous. Aiden, a totally fabulous looking Scottish boy-by the way, I could hear his voice in my head with that accent. What girl doesn’t want a guy with a cute accent?- with a tender, kind heart falling for Lindsey, a kind, snarky, fun-spirited girl who had her whole life taken from her in the blink of an eye. The chemistry that Cyndi created between these two just flew off the pages. They really complimented each other on so many levels. Obviously with there being a “between” world between Earth and heaven, you can tell that there are paranormal tid-bits in the story. I love the journey that I was taken on by the paranormal factors in Between. While in this between place, waiting for the special light to come, Lindsey and Aiden can spend their days at specific places and during specific memories. It is there you learn of the tragedy that strikes Aiden and his family. Or you can witness a past event that brought up memories, good and bad, for Lindsey. I love the great amount of detail and the over-all originality of this particular trait of the story. All the places that Aiden and Lindsey “visited” were so vivid. I could practically see and feel whatever they were seeing and feeling! For fear of letting out tiny secrets that will hint to you the big twist in the middle of the story, I am going to stop this review a little short. All you need to know is that the romance in this story is beautiful! Vivid, original, and marvelous details will keep you entranced while reading Between!

If you love Scottish men, romance, and a good twist, this story is for you! Tefft kept me turning the pages, one after the other, wondering what was going to happen next! I couldn't put the book down, and when I had to, I just wanted to get back to it as soon as possible! Aiden MacRae is a male character you automatically fall in love with, and you become jealous of Lindsey as the story develops. When finished with this book, you will be picking up the second book to continue the story!

This story will trap you from the beggining. Very well written. You will get lost in it. Not to mention that Aiden McRae is to die for, a gorgeous, wonderful man that will make you fall in love with him. I highly recommend it.

This book is amazing I can't even find words good enough to describe. This was amazing and original. Linsey has just died and shes half way to heaven and she meets Aiden who is a transporter, someone who sends people to heaven, and they instantly fall in love. Some may say it happened to fast but thats the thing they had a connection so with the little time they had together it was memorable. They shared so many things that normally can't and that makes there love stronger then most. This book was such a tear jerker and i broke down more then once. The ending was amazing and I can't wait to read the next one!

Lindsey's story begins with her death. It's not often you get to start a book like that, and that wasn't the only wonderfully unique thing about Between. It's only the beginning. When she wakes up in a beautiful meadow, at the feet of a beautiful Scottish guy, Lindsey soon finds herself falling head over heels in love. Who knew love would come after her life had already ended? I was completely swept away by the beautiful writing and beautiful love story of Between. Watching as Lindsey and Aiden fell in love, enjoyed simple things like each others favorite meals, and helped each other come to grips with things they struggled with, was just a great pleasure to read. Both of them were such amazing characters, with such powerful voices. You can't help but fall in love right along with them. Did this book have a lot of Christian references? Yes. Did this affect my enjoyment of the book? Not in the least, it only added to it in my opinion. These characters are very sound in their faith, and I really enjoyed that for a change. Between was a beautiful tale of romance and redemtion. It was an enjoyable read from beginning to end. With tender moments, sad moments, crazy plot twists and an ending that left me completely satisified like a tall glass of lemonade on a hot summer day, Between is a book you don't want to miss. I know I will be devouring book 2 as soon as it is in my greedy little hands, and I recommend that you all give Between a try as well.

This is a story I've been dying to read for weeks! I'm delighted to say I was finally able to indulge myself over the long Thanksgiving weekend! The action grabs you straight away...it's odd to explain, but though a horrible tragedy is how the romance in this story actually comes about. The characters are thoughtfully fleshed out and are as close to multi dimensional as can be. And not just the two mains, but many of the periphery characters as well. My personal favorite was Father O'Malley. The writer explains and describes the surroundings as if you were watching a movie- I saw, I felt, I smelled, etc. It truly felt like all my senses were being stimulated. There were theological themes relating to God, heaven and the afterlife beautifully weaved throughout the story. TO ME it didn't feel preachy; it simply left me thoughtful about those huge universal questions we all have about life. Overall, I loved the story and about 3/4 way though the story you need to grab some Kleenex. It left me satisfied and wanting more!

This book was so boring I flipped through pages by the dozens looking for some kind of action. The switched between the first half and the second half was abrupt, rough and jarring. The book was too christian for me, and had no warning of this before purchase. Not worth the pennies it cost.

I couldn't help it but my heart was pounding so hard in my chest while I read this book. Seriously entertaining and so beautiful. Lindsey is a college student that unfortunately died but it's not so unfortunate at all, it's because of this that she meets Aiden a hot and steamy Scottish that is her transporter to heaven. But in between they get to know each other and fall madly in love. But a turn of things separate's them and it's a total shocker let me tell you that. The story takes u up for a ride like never before, time traveling and different POV here and there gives a complete feel of the main character. Which for the first time I actually like and never wished to slap her silly. Wait, that's not entirely true there is one part, but sorry can't give details because I'll give too much away. But it was only one part and the need to slap her dissipated very quickly. This book is amazing, Cyndi Tefft is a writer that we all should keep an eye out for, she is talented and super nice too, a complete package. You won't regret reading this book I guarantee it.

This book appeared to be a blend of wish fulfilment/ escapism to begin with, but then things change, and it becomes far deeper and more emotional as we follow Lindsey's journey through death, (death? I promise, death) then wonder and joy, a change and heartbreak, and then what follows? I guess I shouldn't betray the ending. This is a story of astonishing depth. I loved it.

Okay, so I have never read a book like this where the book begins at the end... death is only the beginning. I was so sad when I found out than Lindsey died a few pages in and was curious on where the book would go from there. I was not sure I would like the plot just because she died so fast and I did not get to know Lindsey, but after finding out more and getting to the area where she meets Aiden (her grim reaper) I could not stop reading. I found that Aiden was such a sweet and welcoming character in the plot. I mean when I did, I hope I run in to someone like him. My only thing that I did not like about so much was that I found that Lindsey and Aiden feel in love a little to fast but the story-line made up for this and I love the fact that as they where able to travel around looking at scenes of there lives while waiting for Lindsey to be called to Heaven. There was such great romance in this novel and I loved that it never felt like Aiden and Lindsey were feeling lust but true love and Lindsey would always be so sweet when Aiden did not understand something that Aiden did not understand like smores. ;) In the middle of the book is where you really get hooked in the story-line when the unthinkable happens, and I wont tell anymore to give away an outstanding ending but I must say that this book will leave you laughing and crying. I would so recommend to anyone who want to read a true love story with a twist of paranormal.

I thought that Between was incredible creative. Aiden and Lindsey move back and forth through time and space, travel to each other's memories of their former lives. This way, we get to witness both of these characters experience a completely different setting and time that what they've known. This was truly an inspired idea, because as readers we get a better understanding of the characters through their memories, yet it's not an "information dump." The plot continues to move as we travel through these different memories - the scenes play out like movies and Aiden and Lindsey take on almost ghostly roles. They can interact with each other during these memories, but they cannot interact with their younger selves or anyone else present. Besides these sort of memory replays, Lindsey and Aiden can both "cast" different locations they'd been to when they were living. This means that the setting is constantly changing and let me tell you, Tefft does an amazing job with each location. Through the book we travel to the Scottish countryside, a ball at Versailles and a French Chateau (through Aiden) and A tranquil cabin on a lake, to the Seattle Space Needle, An Aquarium and the Opera with Lindsey. Each place is described in such vivid detail that you truly feel like you are right there with the characters. The love connection between Aiden and Lindsey moved at lightning speed. I enjoyed their relationship, but I cannot help but feel like it was incredibly rushed. Lindsey also dealt with her own death better than one would expect. She did break down a few times, but not nearly as often as I would think. If your life was ripped out from underneath you at a tenderly young age, wouldn't you be incredibly grief stricken? I think I would be a hot mess. She, however seems to be mostly concerned with Aiden. Although, I guess if I put it into perspective, I might be able to understand why they would have bonded so quickly. I mean, he's been starved for true human interaction for 300 years and she just died. I guess it would be more prudent to focus on the hot Scotsmen than wallow about something you cannot change. I would probably get all clingy too. Let's talk about the storyline for a minute, because again, it is so wonderfully creative. When Lindsey dies in a car crash, Aiden appears to act as her transporter. It is his job to transport her to heaven. As the two proceed to interact, they quickly fall in love, even though the fear of separation is always hanging over them. They both know that at some point Lindsey is going to have to move on and it puts a terribly romantic spin on everything. Honestly, it's such an incredible concept - forget about vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, faeries, mermaids or any other supernatural creature you've seen - let's talk about an incredibly attractive, Scottish, kilt-wearing version of a Grim Reaper. I think we can all agree that we are treading on new territory with Between. I also want to say something about the religion in the book. I for one, usually don't take to books that deal with religious overtones, because they can often come off as preachy. That really isn't the case with Between. I never felt like Tefft was trying to sway my religious views or anything of the sort - I just saw a wonderfully creative and heartfelt story. Between by Cyndi Tefft was an intriguing story that kept me constantly entertained.

This was one of those books that sucks you in from the very first page! Lindsey is a very lovable character and her struggles seem so real deciding between love and loss. I fell in love with Aiden the minute he opened his mouth and I imagined him talking with a Scottish accent. I love accents especially Scottish ones. I also loved he spoke French fluently as I speak passable French so I didn't even need a translation. The story unfolds nicely as Lindsey and Aiden fall for each other and go on adventures to Scotland, France, and a small cabin in Washington. I could see each place so vividly I felt like I was there. Then somewhere around the middle Cyndi throws a HUGE twist into the story I was ripping my hair out screaming NO at my kindle! I won't say what the twist is but be warned it's a doozy that'll make you want to read faster to see how the story ends. I loved the interaction Lindsey has with the other characters in the story as well but I can't say much there either as it would ruin a part of the story. So with that I am saying this book was frustratingly amazing and I can't wait for the next one. If you love a good YA read with a paranormal take I that's fresh and new go buy this book you won't be disappointed.
